December 14, 2025Dec 14 Thank you you asked that question. Yes, it's for 135mm dropout. I will put that info on the web page. Because trains have started banning conversions, I'm on the lookout for an inexpensive lightweight pre-built folder with: Decent range Easy to replace discrete battery Easily accessible EAPC markings (speed limit, manufacturer details, 250W etc.) Hi-viz frame colour Front and rear cameras Reverse parking camera Self-balancing roll alongside when walking function Drone Disc brakes (one on the front minimum) Tyres at least 1.75" wide Effective mudguards with mudflaps Preferably with front suspension Conquers hills with ease Dual chainring for extreme hills, heavy trailer towing, extreme weight gain Pannier rack Loud horn Compass on handlebar Folding pedals Handlebar which swivels to the side or folds down for hallways Thru rear axle for heavy trailer towing Mounting point for front basket Fully customisable controller firmware Handbar mirrors which show more than my shoulders or elbows Bright headlight Large sensibly separated bright indicators fore and aft Independently powered battery overheat alarm 6A phone charging port Dual D-lock friendly 20A 12V power outlet for heated clothing or electric blanket for camping Heated handlebar Immobiliser 240V inverter Alarm GPS tracking Automated crash detected emergency services call function Convenient to pick up and carry Easy to roll when folded Handlebar activated tyre shredding tack deployment system for pursuers and neighbours Optional folding roofed fairing with windscreen wiper(s) Remote activated immobiliser Small beer fridge Very small microwave oven Integral fold or roll-out solar panel array for off-grid charging Ultrasound or X-ray rider buttock recognition immobiliser system Remote activated saddle taser Etc. Not an exhaustive list by any means, just covering the basics. Do you have any plans to sell such pre-built folders "Woosh" branded with this or some other kit? The Woosh Faro (https://wooshbikes.co.uk/?faro) may be worth a look but you could save money by converting a second hand carbon frame bike with this Tongsheng 85TS kit.

December 14, 2025Dec 14 Author Do you have any plans to sell such pre-built folders "Woosh" branded with this or some other kit? I was thinking of creating a new range with the tongsheng 85TS kit but finding myself too old now. I leave the decision to Andy.
December 14, 2025Dec 14 Train conversion bans may become more popular, has to be pre-built. It may be easy to remove the battery and put it in a regular backpack or bag. That won't stop the bike being a conversion, but may stop guards noticing it's an ebike at all.
December 14, 2025Dec 14 I was thinking of creating a new range with the tongsheng 85TS kit but finding myself too old now. I leave the decision to Andy. If you retire you die. Happens every time. The train-friendly folder I've briefly described above would be a popular recipe to get right, even without the remote activated saddle taser, or ultrasound or X-ray rider buttock recognition immobiliser system. That won't stop the bike being a conversion, but may stop guards noticing it's an ebike at all. The bag battery has Anderson connector, very easy to connect and disconnect. You can put it in another bag anywhere on the bike like inside a side bag for the luggage rack. The dimensions of the battery are 22cm L x 7cm W x 8cm H. Weight: 2.3kgs. December 14, 2025Dec 14 https://uk.dyucycle.com/products/dyu-t1-pedal-assist-torque-sensor-electric-bike? Thanks, discrete battery is a definite plus (added to my list above). However, would it be a bumpy ride without normal spokes, rough on the wrists without front suspension? Without 26 beeellion pounds to fix them all, the pothole situation will only get worse. Also, I've noticed a lot of Chinese manufacturers don't mark their bikes with manufacturer details, 25kph, 250W etc. in easily accessible places. Edited December 14, 2025Dec 14 by guerney

December 16, 2025Dec 16 Is the torq sensitivity adjustable, and is there any chance you'll have a 20" version one day?
December 17, 2025Dec 17 Author The torque sensitity is set in the firmware. You have the usual 5 levels of torque from the + and - buttons. you'll have a 20" version one day? Sure.
December 17, 2025Dec 17 I've got mine now. I have to wait for a bike to install it in. I had a plan for it, but I forgot that the motor has the torque sensor in it. I thought it was separate. My plan was to use the motor in one bike and the battery and controller in another with small wheels, but that's not possible. Woosh, can you remind me how the torque sensor works? Is the motor sensorless, so the small pins are used for the torque signal?
December 17, 2025Dec 17 Author Woosh, can you remind me how the torque sensor works? Is the motor sensorless, so the small pins are used for the torque signal? I will open the motorto take some pictures. As I understand from member mechaniker, there is a microcontroller inside the motor that multiplexes the PAS, torque and Hall outputs to send back to the controller using the old 3 Hall wires. *Hall wires, not phase wires. December 18, 2025Dec 18 What a great product you have there - you'll certainly be giving the likes of Cytronex and BoostBike a run for their money. Those two products do have smartphone 'apps' though - I don't suppose the 85TS product has such a thing in it's development line does it? An app of course is just icing on the cake and by no means an essential. Might there be a 700c wheel version coming along anytime soon? You've clarified the OLN as 135mm but what about dropout size - does the motor fit in 9mm drop-outs or will 'fettling be required' to get the dropouts to 10mm? As I understand from member mechaniker, there is a microcontroller inside the motor that multiplexes the PAS, torque and Hall outputs to send back to the controller using the old 3 Hall wires. Ah, I wondered how that was done - very clever. Now we need some user feedback, especially how the torque sensor affects the ride experience versus something like the KT current control method.

Top spec full suspension bike with torque sensor and decent size battery 16.5kg £550 ! https://www.facebook.com/share/1BbeJD7RE6/ This is only "8kg". Range will be bloody decent with 15Ah. No mudguards tho. 12.5kg converted, without mudguards. Linking by way of illustration only - rear dropouts are probably not wide enough for the motor, but such a lightweight long range conversion or converted product, with some other similar frame and fork of the same weight, would make for a desirable cummuter. Train-assist commute compatable, if Woosh pre-built and branded. Other light 20" wheeled folding commuters max out at 10Ah, if that. Usually 5Ah to 7Ah, or less. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/358000220633 Edited December 18, 2025Dec 18 by guerney

I plan to expand the range of wheels with this kit. 700C is certain, 20" was my initial project so is in the pipeline. You've clarified the OLN as 135mm but what about dropout size - does the motor fit in 9mm drop-outs or will 'fettling be required' to get the dropouts to 10mm? The motor core is same as the standard Aikema 85SX, it has 10mm flanges. If you have quick release skewer on the rear wheel, you will need to fettle it to 10mm.

Similar frames may be available cheaper from some factory in China? According to this post, the Dahon Speed Pro/TT Frame also has 135mm rear dropouts, 20" wheels, steel alloy frame, but no disc brakes. https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/mini-folding-bike.10473/page-2#post-125658 Edited December 20, 2025Dec 20 by guerney

Thanks. Aikema make some through axle kits but the last time I checked, the rep said that I can order preproduction kits but wasn't quite sure when mass production will start.
December 26, 2025Dec 26 Author We will re-open on Monday 05-January. Peaceful Christmas and a happy New Year to you and your.
March 31Mar 31 Any sign of the 700c version yet? Would it be possible to ship to Austria? I have a nice carbon Cannondale Synapse that I am thinking of electrifying as there is no such thing as a flat road around here. Edited March 31Mar 31 by chris_n Grammar
