    Dave, or not Dave?, I had previously tried getting the gap down to almost contact, as my understanding from the kit instructions was that a sufficiently small gap was required. Apparently not so. I suggest you give a wide gap a try.

    TSDZ2 gives no pedal assist below 10 mi/hr

    I've finally just taken a good shakedown ride on my bike with a TSDZ2 750 watt kit motor that I installed. What a wonderful experience! But, the pedal assist does not come on until I reach a speed of about 10 mi/hr. Above that speed, the assist behaves nominally - proportional to my pedaling...
