TSDZ2 Speed Sensor Magnet Spacing

FWIW, increasing the sensor-to-magnet gap to 22-24 mm cured the problem I had experienced of reading 62 mi/hr at low speeds, which in turn had been preventing the pedal assist function from engaging.

I don't imply that this gap is optimal. I was surprised the sensor worked with such a large gap. It simply resulted from the easy dodge of attaching the magnet to a spoke laced to the right side of the rear wheel hub, while the sensor is attached to the left side chain stay about 210 mm forward of the rear axle on a 700 size wheel.

Hmm, ill have to try that as mine also shows 60mph at walking speeds. I was going to try and get it closer, but will try moving away if that has fixed yours.

Dave, or not Dave?, I had previously tried getting the gap down to almost contact, as my understanding from the kit instructions was that a sufficiently small gap was required. Apparently not so. I suggest you give a wide gap a try.

The gap may also rely on the magnet field strength.
