Halfords - coyote connect folding bike

Oh yeah I found it, there is a small compartment right in front of the battery. What a shame. There is no speed detection on the wheels though so it must be inside the motor.

China can copy everything including cars and electrical items. They even make fake milk and eggs. I think I watched somewhere that 30% of China's entire economy relates to counterfeiting.

There's no computer or controller on this model that I can see. I would have to assume that the speed limit etc is all controlled from inside the motor. Can anyone confirm? So easy to hack because it's so simple! Extra battery pack in series here I come!

Just as daft would be someone leaving their ebike unlocked outside a shop or using a £5 halfords lock. I'm not saying deserved it or anything but it's not the best move.

Drivers are very courteous in the morning, but in the evening after work, forget it! Everyone has the 'I must get home at the speed of sound' mentality.

I was trying to explain it simply. Given up though! :)

Yes, power is drawn by the motor not given by the battery so having a lower voltage battery with a higher capacity isn't equal to a high voltage battery with a lower capacity.

How long have you had your bike for?

I did 20 miles today no problem, all on high power with some very steep hills. The annoying thing is when you get to 20% it could run out at any time. Switching the power off is like trying to cycle with an anchor hanging off the back. 20 miles on a normal bike I would be dead! This bike I...

    Replacing Controller

If you're going to break it all apart, you could just hook the battery straight into the motor with a switch in between. Zoom zoom! Sent from mTalk

Voltage affects torque and acceleration. Biking will be easier especially up hills.

How waterproof are they? I will need to be riding it in any weather to get to work. I won't be riding through flood water but British weather dictates that there will be heavy rain. The motor, battery and speed controller are all exposed.

we'll I've done over 20 miles today without charging and still have some juice left. Im hooked on electric bikes! My next one will definitely be a higher voltage, but other than that I recommend it! I couldn't go back to a normal bikes after this.

How long have you had your bike for?

I just bought a Coyote Connect cheap ebike from Halfrauds for £500. I've got a bit of buyers remorse now because I doubt there are any spares available for it. So my questions are, how long would you expect a battery like this to last, how long might the motor last (as there are no spares) and...
