Hopper SE - Bargain?
Scott I ordered a thumb because I wanted to fit on the left side because of the gearchange and twist type would not (in my mind ) work the right way about. Now I see you have the SE which has the 6 speed - so how did you fit it all - can you post a photo please.

Hopper SE - Bargain?
Hi Scott, I am toying with fitting a thumb throttle to mine, does any type fit/work, Can you explain how I would use it - ie does it override the LED thingie in respect of low - med - high, is it completely smooth in operation or is the power delivery stepped. I am hoping to get my wife - who hasn't ridden in years - to use the Shopper and so want to make it easy for her. Oh and where did you get yours from ? Thanks

Hopper SE - Bargain?
Thanks lads, I was turning the wrong way and the pin is not quite flush so battery sticks. Easy when you know these things, thanks again

Hopper SE - Bargain?
That's the one I just got (in June) I like that it is easy to use without power too.

Hopper SE - Bargain?
Just took mine out for first proper run, mainly pavements and disused railway walk, country park. 9,5km I need to check battery but have forgotten how to take it off to charge it. Took it off last night ok but tonight I can't remember how I did it (it's got a key lock). Can someone spell it out in simple terms please.

Nostalgic garage smell
This thread has brought back a few memories for me too, the sorting office where I would go to see my dad at work. The air had the distinctive smell of sisal (no rubber bands) and letter sacks. Sometimes I would sit or lay on a pile of sacks, I can still smell it if I concerntrate. Petrol does not smell (or taste) like it did when I was a lad with my first motorbike, but I can remember the local "Rope and Twine Company" wooden floors, rope, sacks, tinware and basket ware - another place that flled the senses. And finally Old Mr Baines the cobbler ( RIP) one of the nicest "old people" I ever knew , more exotic smells in his little shop. I am glad I am not the only weird one around

I bought a similar one in June ( had the longer range and rear suspension) @ about £380. Must say I was very impressed with the quality at that price, didn't get a chance to ride it much as have been ill. Hopefully give it a blast next week when I am in UK. I think you'll both like it

Hello, I am Patrick and a newcomer to all this ebike stuff
Well I came across the web site after searching for anything regarding taking power from your batttery to power /charge phones or GPS / tablet. One suggestion was to use one of those backup batteries . Never thought of that and have 3 of em so thats sorted. I live in northern Spain, and am quite unfit , such that I have had to "retire" my BMW and Ducatis. Missed getting about the little roads and exploring and found that my ancient MTB was just too much hard work. To cut things short I found a shop/rental place in Santander (Turybikes) who spent an age talking me through ebikes - they gave me a Tucano Urano to try out, I rode it round the block and was hooked. Threw it in the back of the car, they said if I buy a bike the rental is waived, take it away and play. So I played - and the more I played the more I was hooked. So I asked them to get me a new one - am hoping to get it this week - meanwhile they let me keep the rental one for a few more days. In Spain the government have a scheme called PIMA Aire, basically they give you €200 refund (but it can take forever) so with the poor pound it works out at a sensible price. (If you are a resident in Barcelona you can get another €250 on top of that) Even though I have only done short rides it just feels so good to get out and I feel a lot fitter already. I must admit to going into this blind but I really like the bike / specs / and I am having fun again (at 60). So thats it really quite exciting. I found an app called MapMyRide which is great fun to share where you have been. I'm going to stop now. Bye
