What you had was a one off. The majority of fully warrantied batteries are above 500£ now so yes I'm not willing to kill it for 350£ minus ebay fees.

I haven't lubed my wife's trekking yet and done at least 150kms so far. Looks well lubricated but being the trekking model we don't use it on rough terrain and don't do jumps either! Otherwise no problems with the sduro whatsoever

Strange. I got metal pedals with both my trekking bikes from 2 different sellers. I wasn't charged for them and seem decent to me. Sure you can spend a fortune on pedals but I wasn't told: hay bike comes without pedals you need to pay for them!

Just to throw a spanner in the works, the yamaha motor/battery although 400wh seems to me to be able to cover more miles than the equivalent 500w motor. At least that's my comparison to a performance bosch motor and 500wh on 2 trekking models I have
