    carbon forks and hub motors?

There are two forces to be considered, and they will have been formally analysed during design. 1. At the headstock. 2. Equal and opposite reaction to force developed between brake pads and disc. Both of these act at far greater distance from the axle centre, and unlike the motor, neither...

Woosh kit on a btwin tilt900

Thanks so much for taking the time to write that out! I'm glad you're happy with it, I'm in a similar boat I often cycle into London and there's one hill in particular that I'm sure is going to make my knees fall off if I don't do something! I'm going to look further into this but mounting it...

    Yosepower hub kits.

Yes. I've done that, and I know of professional trike makers that do it. It gives you a chance to adjust the gearing of the motor to suit your needs. Mine was a single gear, but if you use a rear motor, and design a 135mm bracket with a derailleur hanger, you can use the gears for normal pedal...

    Yosepower hub kits.

With you guys seeming knowledgable about hubs and discs could you answer me this . My neighbour wants me to fabricate a bracket to receive his front wheel hub having demounted it from its 26” wheel. His idea is to have the hub drive his trike rear axle and in turn its 26” wheel using an axle...

Disabled cyclist; with one bad choice behind her, needs help with a new bike

That's exactly what I do, for easier lifting up and down stairs, into and out of buses, trains etc. I simply place the battery into a rucksack, so center of mass is more central while moving the bike. I don't know if the Rambletta's battery is easily removable, but it should be if it isn't. I...

    Converting Carrera Subway 2

It should look something like this, you can experiment with washers until you get it set up right. Ideally, both sides should be the same When I installed my kit I removed the chain and brake caliper so I could try different washer set-ups more easily, then I refitted the caliper with loose...

    Bafang Mid-drive M510 - 250 watt making clicking / clunking noise after 1,300 miles

Thanks Matthew . . washing only involved a light "watering can type head" on a garden hose, just to rinse off the mud, so no real pressure involved. I've also just checked and all the bolts are good My video has now been forwarded to Bafang for their comments.

    Bafang Mid-drive M510 - 250 watt making clicking / clunking noise after 1,300 miles

Did hosing down involve a pressure washer? Hopefully not! I would check crank arms for tightness as well as motor mounting bolts. Pedals as well.

    Help! Conversion suggestions

I have tried front hub, rear hub and BBS02, if i was going to do it again i would go for a rear torque sensor rear hub. The BBS02 is great but even with a gear sensor fitted i found getting a good chainline difficult and gear changes at times annoying. Mid drives motor are a bit like marmite...

Swytch GO - New conversion kit

Thank you - as a (well -modded) Swytch Mk 1 user I am always interested in Swytch developments. Presumably getting good prices from China, and ? using the sensors in the motor wheel instead of a cadence sensor. Peter

How to get at motor mounting bolts?

Bike is a 2023 Gazelle Grenoble C5 HMB and I need to check that mounting bolts are tight. Question is, how do I get at them? I guess I take off the left-hand crank then undo the screws holding the plastic cover on, but if anybody knows what happens next that would be helpful! And while...

Tern Link conversion with Tongsheng Tsdz2 kit. Question...

I wanted to keep the bike's compactish folding capability, so avoided mounting the battery in the middle, but used the same webbing as the bloke converting his Dahon Jetstream with a BBS02 below. Zipties over the webbing prevents the wires undeneath being pinched; allegedly tidier. I had to...

    Yosepower Front Hub kit recommendations/alternatives

The 85SX was actually my first choice but they had none in stock at the time (last summer) My bike originally weighed 13.26kg, my conversion kit (motor and battery) weighs 7.4kg. Let's add 0.5 kg for cabling etc. So total weight is about 21.16kg. I also lost a bit of weight by dumping the...

    E tricycle advise needed please.

I recently fitted a Wooshbikes DWG22C 48Volt hub drive kit to a friend's ICE Trike Adventure 26" (recumbent, tadpole). My friend lives in a very hilly area and, being in his 80s, is not as strong as he once was and limited as to where he could go. He says the conversion changed hill-climbing...

Tongsheng TSDZ2 Build - This much I know - Part 4 - Down Tube Battery Installation

Hi. I’ve just joined after fitting a Tongsheng kit to my Boardman Hybrid Team. I’ve just spent the weekend solving exactly the same problem after the test ride proved the battery was fixed nowhere near rigidly enough using the two bottle cage fixing points. It wobbled worryingly from side to...

What to do when your mid drive bike give up the ghost

Aren't most mid-drive motor frames aluminium, typically heat treated 6061 so you would have to heat-treat the frame again after welding to get back to full strength. This means a full paint strip and access to a heat treatment oven. However I have to say that if your not going to be re-fitting...

Well that was a bad idea

...heat shrink. I would be the same as you in that I do my own maintenance so it sounds like you could easily do it yourself. You may need a torque wrench for the motor mounting bolts and crank bolts. Also do you need a tool to remove the chainring - not sure what gen motor you have, mine was gen2.

Tongsheng TSDZ2 Build - This much I know - Part 4 - Down Tube Battery Installation

Following my first mid motor bike conversion I thought I would give some feedback, via a number of posts, which hopefully will be useful to those thinking of doing something similar. Some down tube battery installation advice as follows: 1. Maximum patience is required for this step so avoid...

Some motor installation advice as follows: 1. Until the motor position is finalised it is easier to work on the...
