Xipi Silent Wing Kit (and bike)

Hi, thanks for the advice, I will look up the freight company. As I have had little luck on here I will look to gumtree and eBay shortly. I guess it's just unfortunate it's the wrong time of year and the wrong weather to be trying to sell. But for anyone interested who's reading this, I can ship...

Xipi Silent Wing Kit (and bike)

Good point, I didn't state a price as I don't really know how much i should be asking. I would guess £1250 for the kit and bike with the other bits n pieces negotiable. I think that's a fair price given its almost new!

Xipi Silent Wing Kit (and bike)

It doesn't cost a lot to hire a van for a day... Where there is a will, there's a way :)

Xipi Silent Wing Kit (and bike)

I am regretfully going to have to sell my Xipi Silent Wing kit, which believe it or not I only purchased in late September and has done less than 500 miles. The reason; A couple of weeks ago I was approached and asked if I was interested in a new vacancy, I had an interview last week and have...

    Xipi Silent Wing Kit Review

D8veh I simply didn't realise that seat post racks were for designed for suspension bikes, nor did I appreciate when specifying to Frank my requirements what a difference to stability a few short inches can make. With hindsight I should have had a proper rack, but as I just stated in another...

    Xipi Silent Wing Kit Review

I take what you say on board, I can only hope that doesn't happen. I may just invest in a rack that isn't attached to the seat post. They are not that expensive on Ebay..

    Xipi Silent Wing Kit Review

Hi To answer all the questions. Yes the battery is in the MTX back on the rack and the controller is fitted underneath the rack (non removable unless you unscrew it). The kit is not that noisy at all. Its not silent (nothing is) but it doesn't scream look at me. With the noise of London rush...

    Xipi Silent Wing Kit Review

Ok guys, as promised here is my review of the Xipi Silent Wing kit as fitted to my Dahon Cadenza P18 folding bike. I have had the kit about a month and have so far covered 364 miles. The silent wing is the fastest of the kits Xipi do with a claimed top speed of 28mph+ and the description is...

Hello all newbie here in S.E London needing some good honest sound advice

Hi, Thanks for your input. My only concern is the handling, but I do not intend to carry anything else in the panniers (I would be using a rucksack) so fingers crossed it will be ok? I did consider moving the motor to the front wheel to distribute the weight more evenly but with a motor...

Hello all newbie here in S.E London needing some good honest sound advice

When I emailed Jim at Alien I enclosed a photograph of my Cadenza P18 so he would have seen which model I had. However none of that matters now as I have placed a deposit on a silent wing conversion from Frank at Xipi bikes. After trying several different types of kit it was a toss up between...

Hello all newbie here in S.E London needing some good honest sound advice

Thank you. I just thought id give an update. Today i visited Cyclezee and Frank at Xipi and I tried several different bikes. I wasn't overly impressed with the BBS01 in the 250w guise, I felt it lacked power it would be interesting to try the other verisions but sadly I dont feel I can wait...

Hello all newbie here in S.E London needing some good honest sound advice

Thanks. OK I think the GNG kits are best left to people in the know and definitely not a beginner like me. I checked out that Whoosh BBSO1, it looks awful similar to a kit called the Sunstar SO1. I did look at the Sunstar SO1 kit initially but ruled it out as I was informed it wouldn't be...

Hello all newbie here in S.E London needing some good honest sound advice

Hi, Thank you for replying. At the time of speaking with you earlier I wasn't aware that you were also dealers for Falco kits (perhaps you told me but I missed it?). Thank you again for taking the time to speak with me and offer me advice. To a newbie like me this area is a mine field and can...

Hello all newbie here in S.E London needing some good honest sound advice

hi d8veh, Thank you for your reply. The Alien kits (according to John at Alien) will not fit onto my bike so I have struck them from my list. I am not a competent DIYer (yet) so would not try adapting or messing with any kit in any way. I am aware that the GNG kits are DIY, but they are...

Hello all newbie here in S.E London needing some good honest sound advice

Hello all, I am a complete newbie to this forum and electric bikes so i'd like to say hello. Years ago I knew someone who rode a pedelec but it was designed for a granny and weighed as much as a killer whale. Oh how times have changed. I hadn't given pedelecs much thought until recently when...
