Thanks for that. I’ve emailed the supplier to see where I stand with their 12 months guarantee.

    Bbs01 12H error

Thanks for the reply Peter C. I have now discovered that I can alter the level of assist by turning on the display and quickly entering the desired level before the display flashes its error code. The motor seems to be working fine and if I press the level assist buttons + and - while on the...

    Bbs01 12H error

So yesterday I took my Bbs01 equipped bike around the Gwydir Mawr trail in Wales. 25km of steep uphill and even steeper downhill. Had a great time and the motor helped propel me and the bike uphill. This morning I went for a gentle ride along the north Wales coastal cycle path. The bike ran fine...

    Pedalling resistance

Thanks for the replies. I put the bikes on a stand and twirled the cranks without the chain, they spun fairly easily by hand. With the chain there was a noticeable increase in resistance so I cleaned and oiled the chain, cassette and derailleur. Took both bikes for a spin without their batteries...

    Pedalling resistance

I have recently converted two mtbs using bbs01s and my wife and I are really enjoying riding them. So far we've covered 500 miles up and down hill with no problems (touch wood). However, both bikes are nearly impossible to pedal with the power turned off. There seems to be a large amount of...

    BBS01b on my new 29er

Nice build! So changing wheel size has increased your top speed?

    New build

Looks like a nice build! :) How is the battery held in place? Any problems with the clearance between battery and front tyre? Asking because I'm considering a similar build myself. Thanks

Next project 29er New donor bike found

I drilled an extra hole in my battery mount somit lined up with the bottle cage bolts. Then I stuck a cable tie on as well, I'm the nervous sort!

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

Great, now I can look forward to even more people overtaking me on the long uphill section out of the car park! Think I'd better get that Bafang motor bought. :) Seriously, those bikes look sweet!

    smaller person

My wife is 5'1" and we've just converted her cannondale jekyll full, suspension bike intoman e bike. She bought her bike over 10 years ago and it was £1400 then. She has a 14 and a half inch frame and a sixteen would be too big for her - as in stand over height. There wasn't enough room in the...

    Cannondale jekyll

Thought I'd post some photos of my wife's cannondale full suspension bike which we recently fitted with a bbs01. Said motor being the subject of my recent 'loose motor' thread. Thanks for all the advice on how to fix that problem. The battery wouldn't fit inside the frame so we had to adapt a...

    Loose motor

Hi, I've recently fitted a bafang bbs01 motor to my wife's cannondale full suspension bike. I'll post some pics when we get back from our holiday. Yesterday after returning from a 30 mile canal towpath ride I noticed that the motor was hanging loose from its mounting bracket. The two nuts...

Bafang mid drive kit has arrived

I fitted my bafang last week and didn't fancy the idea of the two unused wires just hanging there waiting to collect water so I've taped them to the larger battery leads.

    Hello from the Wirral

Hi, I've been lurking on the forum for several months ever since friends of ours bought themselves 2 very nice and very expensive Scott electric bikes. Being careful with my money I decided to use the wisdom gathered from reading this forum to convert my wife's MTB into an electric bike. I...
