14.4 battery drill

so, im building the boy a battery drill go cart with a load of very old very shite ex lappy bats, they average 1600mah each, gone 4s 8p with them, rubbered the end of the drill, built a cage and laid it on the rear wheel, so far so good.

But

Can i get it to balance charge! NO I CANT, iv soldered 3 sets of balance wires and my damn knock-off imax just wont have it, giving me an error 2 seconds in.

My question, can i just use the balance leads to charge each block of cells individualy instead of using the 4s port in the side of the imax?

From memory, the iMax needs a minimum of two cells to work. If yours works with one cell, just do one bank at a time.

What amp charge rate have you got it set at ? And what psu ? Try lowerering the amp charge rate to 0.5a , if that works go incremental increases
