I'm looking for some advice about a camera for my bike. I believe, in the main, you get what you pay for, but it looks as if you can get a well known make such as Panasonic for <£100 or go to >£400 for something like a GoPro.
I just want something to log an incident when some nugget cuts me out and knocks me off rather than showing film shows of me hurtling down a forest 1in 3 track. Suggestions please.
My other thought is... if I mount it on the bars, won't it get a lot of vibration?

The SJcam M20 has a gyro in it that damps out most of the vibration. Battery life is about 90 minutes, though it can work in car mode from an external supply for infinite recording time, just like a car dash cam. You can find reviews on Youtube.

Whatever camera you get, you need one that can record in 1080p as a minimum. It's worth paying extra for a 2K or 4K one to ensure that you get the number plate.

Some cameras have buit in GPS, so you can get other info about your journey logged, which can be useful.
