A Wattmeter between the battery and the controller.

You don't have to look at it all the time it will record max A and max W.

Those blue 60v/100a ones are quite good I have one on my mtb and 2 wired into my bulk chargers, near £15 is a bit much though I paid £5.55 each for mine and they arrived quite quickly from HK, the seller I used was ' 12Deeping ' and got 4 of them 3 in use and a spare.

Will use it to adjust more, it began cutting out again so i tested stalling the motor on highest setting after cutting one of the shunts off

And it was fine even under stall, then after a short ride it was cutting out again and not cuts out when stalling. It seems the shunt trick works but after a bit of driving the controller is slowly increasing the power?
