Great achievement by Mark Beaumont, he has cycled around the world in under 79 days, matching his aim to beat 80 days (and not a battery in sight). How he could stand 240 miles a day with 16 hours in the saddle beggars belief, I've never exceeded 80 miles and more usually 60 miles maximum.

Agree, great achievement some people have it, I don't. I was in death valley this year for a few days, it hit 129f / 54c as I was driving with aircon/water in hand I saw a bike packer riding through OMG:eek:

Most I've done in 24 hours was 328 miles and I was a mumbling mess til I got some sleep! 240 miles per day for 79 days is super human, god only knows how his body can withstand that sort of punishment.

A tremendous feat, particularly as it was continual for such a long time. My longest distance I think was cycle trekking from Tay head forest park
to Forth William .. with panniers etc. .. we would have stopped sooner but there was no accomodation over what was bleak countryside.
