Good post. Just a reminder in case: the insurance will NOT cover riding speed pedalecs (assist over 15.5 mph or nominal motor power over 250w). Other posts indicate that people trying to use these legally with all appropriate licences etc are having difficulty getting insurance: Cycling UK will not cover them.
