Ok so I will try to be as descriptive as possible. I have an ancheer electric bike (yes I know they are crap) it used to be able to give full power now can only give power on lowest setting. Anyway now whenever I put charger in to charge it, it doesn't charge and says the battery is fully charged. So I ride it and few mile later typically it dies. The on board computer says it's only half full as well. Ivd replaced the charger still same thing, I've got a multi meter and tested the battery its reading 8ah and 36v which is what the battery says. Any ideas on next steps anyone faced anything like this? I'd really like to get it working again

That sounds very much like the battery has failed, one or more cells unable to hold their charge. When it cuts out, does the onboard battery meter show the capacity suddenly drop to zero at that moment?

Precisely. Currently the on board computer says it's got around 50% charge but I can guarantee if I took it to work it would die within 10 mins of riding. And when it dies it drops fast, it has 3 bars but when it dies it drops down to 2 1 then none. But then if I reset the battery ir shows 3 bars again. I suspected a battery issue but then when multimeter confirmed it's working I thought well what is it. Then theres the issue of it not charging ie both old and new chargers say its green as in fully charged when it isnt

Yes, the battery does seem to be dud. The battery meter will always recover a reading after cutting out since it's voltage driven and dud cells do hold their voltage. They just don't retain the ability to deliver the all important current, and a multimeter can't measure that aspect.

So essentially no way to recover? Ie if I sent it off to a battery specialist they cant do anything and would tell me same thing as you?

It may well turn out that your battery is bad, but don't jump to conclusions. You haven't done any tests or measurements yet, so the only thing you'll get is wild guesses. When an ebike doesn’t work properly, you have to measure and check things to find out what's wrong before you start shelling out money.

On the other hand, if you don't have the capability or wherewithal to figure out what's wrong, you have to send it to somebody that can. Most, but not all, electric bike shops wouldn't touch it.
