New Battery Build tested well

so using my new test on cells i made a 8.5A 36v. i used Sanyo cells all between 1700 and 1750mAh.

decided a proper test was in order. give it a bit hammer so to speak. been on on the mountain bike with a bafang 250w mid drive. where i live is a bit hilly. so i did just under 12 miles in 45 minutes. only using PAS 9 and the throttle. on 9 it can peak at 350w and with the throttle it hit 550w at stages.

so a good test i think and it survived. so i would think about 306wh in the battery. so i think it did well.

You certainly learnt a lot along the way. How much did you spend in total on test equipment, chargers, BMSs, nickel, welder and accessories?

but i can charge, test, fully discharge to 3V and recharge 66 cells in a day lol

the biggest issues ive found is getting all the bits needed at the right price. everything needs to be ordered from china, so it takes time.

also BMS boards, the cheaper ones seem to be faulty a lot. had another today. but this time as i had a few. i tried another board leaving all my wires in place and it worked straight away. so to make sure i tried a 3rd one and it worked. reconnect the 1st one and no good again. what i need to do next is find supllyers in the uk to get bits from.

That's why Aliexpress is good because UK suppliers if any would charge double if not more for the same item. Planning ahead and ordering, rather then doing it on the hoof is the way to go.
Annpower sell good bms and genuine pure nickel.

My recent Ann bms arrived a little over a week, the exact same BMS on ebay was double the price.

yes had a few orders from there, got a one on the way from annpower.

so got my chiness cells at last and tested them. lol as bad as some suspected. down as 3000mAh contained under 1200. worse i ran them on my battery test i use lasted under 10 minutes (most do 25 without issue) and got very hot. so yes as i was warned crap. lol

Lesson learned, I think sometimes we have to do these things for ourselves to find out for sure, I know I have many times.

yes very true, though i did get a full refund. they offered a £5 but i said no way described as 3000mAh and there not. refund please.
