These two options are similarly priced, both using the Sanyo NCR18650GA 3.7V 3450mAh 10A cells.

I see in the states the 52v is more popular with the BBS mid drive setups, i`ll be using it with the BBS02 and probably later with the HD version. But i notice one has 65 cells (48v) and the other (52v) item has only 56??

Any advice on which would be strongest?

13Series 5Parallels 13S5P = 48v

14Series 4Parallels 14S4P = 52v

65 cells is the greater total power. Delivery is similar but higher voltage gives slightly higher peak power.

You have to think about weight and how many watt-hours you'll need.

re weight, it`s neither here nor there, the extra nine cells are negligible, they`re approx 4.2kg`s both of them, little more than what i have presently.

It`s about which is best on a BBS02 or HD version?

does anyone know??

Mid drives (all motors in fact) run best when practicing the old addage 'spin up, gear down' - 14S will make the motor spin faster, which can then be geared down for more torque. However, it's hard to overlook the additional capacity of the 13S pack.

I would personally go for the 13s5p. The BBS02 battery display will be a bit more accurate. Plus, I think the overall mean voltage, including sag, will be a little better as the pack gets drained.

Voltage sag is what kills the oomph in the BBSxx's, not initial voltage.

I use 12S 44.4v on my BBS02 as it gets too hot to touch when worked hard with 14S.
My BBSHD runs happily on 14S even pushed flat out at 58.8V hot off the charger up the 20% hill outside my house.
