New tyres. Cool or weird?

I'm with you on that. Other than an Ill advised dalliance with very dark grey, my last 6 cars have been black.

Worst colour though to keep clean, and any scratches really show up as well..... my previous 2 cars before my current one were metalic black.
They look stunning when just washed..... but it only lasts for a short while, then every bit of dust & dirt is highlighted in all its glory.

Err, no. 38mm is 1.5". Fat franks are 2.35", which is about 60mm.

However, clearance can be problem on smaller bikes. It's normally the rear that's worst.

Most mountain bikes will be fine though.

I bought these Fat Frank's for my electric cruiser, which already has black FF's on.

I love the way they ride, so I thought I'd bung them on my old analogue MTB for a test.
I can't decide if they look good, weird, eccentric or stupid.

All opinions are welcome (as long as you don't accuse me of bullying, or not knowing what I'm talking about [emoji6] )

My first special built MTB had white tyres. It had a polished Easton frame with red anodised Hope hubs and a Marzocchi front fork. That was 20 years ago [emoji53]

My Triumph Palm Beach Tourist (1950's pedal cycle) had white wall tyres.
It looked, well this was long before 'cool' even before 'fab' so all I can say is attractive.
Novelty soon wore off, as did the pristine whiteness.

I bought this cruiser with a conversion in mind, however it will need a few mods before its suitable. The brakes are frighteningly poor. It has a side pull brake on the front (nearly useless) back pedal on the rear (better but not great) .

It's also single speed, so would really need at least a 3 speed hub.

I might keep it for non powered use instead.
