Re-celled battery but no pedal assist

9yr old Gepida Berig with Yamaha crank motor & re-celled battery shows 29.2V on bike but head control switch on handle bar shows 4 full red lights for 1 second & then reverts to one light only flashing ie no power.
Cables look undamaged & connectors are as if new. Any suggestions to rectify?
Failing that, are there any Yamaha accredited repairers near Ealing to carry out diagnostics?

Who repaired the battery? Do they know about Yamaha batteries and their comms? Did they replace the BMS?

Ebikebatteries.co.uk recommended. BMS not replaced. Battery shows 29V on voltmeter both off bike & on bike at first connector ie before entering motor housing which contains controller.

yamaha uses uart comms bosch and others use can bus if the motors controller does not get the signal it is looking for it wont do anything

Be very careful sticking things (including multimeters) across the. battery terminals when the battery isn't switched on. If you draw any current the Yamaha battery can shut down with an irreversible fault. 29.2V suggests the battery isn't switched on and is just showing a little bit of leakage.

Have you installed one of his hack dingles?
If so is true you have charge the battery only through the dongle? Sounds really inconvenient if you do.

it just puts back the programming so you can use any bms with it.
