    Understanding Battery Voltage.

Can anyone explain the physics (or electrics) about being able to charge a 500w battery to 80% in 90 minutes but the remaining 20% taking proportionately longer? A sure there will be logical explanation with formula, but can't think of one at the moment.

    Help! Touring Spain: Charging Points

Have tried searching the threads but can't find anything recent about nationwide charging points in the UK or Spain. I can see a short lived attempt at identifying points in 2012 but nothing recent. Anyone tried finding charging points in Spain - or the UK close to the Channel ports?

    Quick Question: Rockrider EMTB Battery

Thanks. Your idea of taking another part separately is a good idea. I'll have a look at that.

    Quick Question: Rockrider EMTB Battery

I have a RR EST- 900 but it's in Spain at the moment. Need to ship it back (minus battery) but can't find details of the battery's weight in any Decathlon literature. Courier won't take the bike if it is over 20kg. It's 22.3kg with the battery so I'm guessing it might be close if the battery is...

    Frame Locks - 27.5+ tyres

Purchased an ABUS frame lock and stupidly forgot to check the dimensions. It wouldn't fit over the 27.5/2.8 tyres on my ebike. Luckily I was able to use it on my regular 27.5 bike which I use for shorter journeys. So I don't make the same mistake again, has anyone fitted a frame lock to theirs.

Does that not make the bees very dizzy? Wouldn't want bee puke in my honey.

Help! Shipping an Ebike/ Taking it on holiday (2) - Pile in

Had a bit of help with this just to understand the logistics. The good news is you can take your bike to Spain but ... 1. Sending it ahead means you've got customs paperwork to do. Batteries can be sent but in special packaging and even more expensive customs paperwork. (Both ways) 2. Ferry to...

Help! Shipping an Ebike/ Taking it on holiday (2) - Pile in

As the title suggests, I'd like to use my eBike on holiday in Spain. So far I've got the following 1. Flying it out is off as airlines don't like batteries (and I want to take 2) 2. I can take it on a ferry e.g Santander (but not Bilbao at present) and take local trains (not high speed) 3. I...

    Wattage conundrum

Page 11. I have the 417W and the 504W. Interesting to see there is a 630W which is not yet available. https://mediap.industry.panasonic.eu/assets/custom-upload/Devices/E-Bike%20systems/PCT_catalogue_EN_0720.pdf

    Wattage conundrum

Thanks for the advice and the insight into batteries. I can't tell you which cells are being used as there is nothing in their literature. Nor anything about the controller. They are - literally - black boxes. But when I come round to replacing the cells, I'll take advice.

    Wattage conundrum

Batteries are from the same manufacturer and AFAIK contain the same cells. So the calculation from what I understand you've highlighted (11.6ah/14ah)*(420w/500w)* 40miles range = 27 miles. Not far short of the 25 "remaining miles" flagged up when the second battery was first used. The drop to...

    Wattage conundrum

.. or where did those watts go. Purchased an additional battery to extend the riding range and ran into a problem. Wonder if the sparks wizards can explain my conundrum. The bike uses a 500W /36v / 14ah system. I purchased an additional [compatible] battery 420W /36v / 11.6 ah. From the first...

    Bike Workstand

Shame I've already got an ebay one that is exactly the same. Will take a 23kg ebike but it can slip so make sure you've tightened all the connections. Might just get another as a spare.

Priceless, so simple for small businesses to sort out. Good old BREXIT!

One of my first jobs was at HMRC in Southend, checking import paperwork to make sure the trader had used the correct customs classification - and paid the correct duty. There were hundreds of us, dealing with the volume of paperwork before the Single Market. When the SM came in, we were let go...
