Range on a New 500mAh Bosch

“As an afterthought I wonder why bike shops give newbies the impression they can ride for such long distances.” The car forums have a similar debate about “official” mpg figures. I think of such things as a useful comparison, but accept that in the real world I’d never achieve them. Grand...

    looking for advice

That makes sense. The borrowed bikes I tried were both older, and had additional push button “throttles”. The Bosch mid drive which is fitted to both my previous and current bikes would have torque sensors fitted, hence they felt much more natural. I remember that on or off feeling as being the...

    looking for advice

Fair point, the feel of any bike will always be subjective. The bikes I tried were both borrowed from work colleagues so weren’t an ideal set up. I wouldn’t rule out a hub drive on a future bike, hence my point in trying before buying. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    looking for advice

I was in a similar situation a year or so back. Big lad, crocked knee, returning to cycling. Both of my ebikes have had Bosch crank drives. I tried a couple of hub motor bikes, but they just didn’t ‘feel’ like cycling. My advice would be to try as many as you can before deciding. Sent from my...

    When to give way..

My previous ebike was written off by a driver who hit the rear of my bike. I had considered a rear view camera like yours. Seeing what is actually happening behind me (like this incident) is what stopped me fitting one. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Am I too sensitive

So much here is familiar. My previous Scott was written off by a 4x4 hitting the rear of the bike while I was in a marked cycle lane. Unfortunately they drove off before we had a chance to ‘discuss’ the matter. By some irony I was riding a different route from my usual, having decided the 20 mph...

First Road Legal S-Pedelec in the UK?

Nice bike. The temptation to take it for a spin before the paperwork was finished would have been too much for me. Well done on trailblazing that path through officialdom, I wonder how easy it would be to do retrospectively, for the S-Pedelecs which are already out there. Sent from my iPad...

Suitable bike racks for a Discovery Sport

Hi Jayess, I use an Atera Strada Ebike carrier. My Škoda has a vertical tailgate, and the carrier tilts by using a foot operated bar so that I can still access the boot without unloading bikes. There’s also plenty of room between bikes, and the carrier itself is lightweight. It hangs on my...
