    Yamaha PW-ST Motor Jerky

The Bosch one only costs 25 Euro retail online here and the Yamaha one 28 Euro both plus 6 postage so 45 quid seems expensive but no idea how prices are over there.

    Yamaha PW-ST Motor Jerky

The symptoms (similar to yours) on my wife's bike went away for a short time after I adjusted the magnet so it seemed likely the sensor had a problem (also an error code on the Bosch display, was speed sensor related). The bike was due for a service anyway so I took it in told them about the...

    Yamaha PW-ST Motor Jerky

TBH, we all thought this was a classic case of a faulty speed sensor but as the replacement didn't fix it I believe it is long overdue for some expert troubleshooting at a good bike shop. They should have the expertise, tools and a readily available selection of spares to be able to find and fix...

    Yamaha PW-ST Motor Jerky

Let us know how it goes. On my wife's Cube the cable runs through the frame to the Bosch motor.

    Yamaha PW-ST Motor Jerky

The symptoms you describe are indeed typical of a faulty or misajusted speed sensor. Given your trouble shooting I think it is most likely a defective sensor so would suggest taking it to your LBS for repair. My wife's Cube had an identical problem the repair cost 80 Euro most of that was...

    Fazua power keeps cutting out

Just for clarification, I don't believe that is what the OP said:- i.e one bike fails with both batteries! Agree with your conclusion though.:)

    Downgrading from KIOX to Intuvio

OK, I have read up some more on this and it seems the Intuvia 100 connects wirelessly via bluetooth to the LED Remote controller you presumably already have on your bikes hadlebars. The Intuvia 100 is battery powered (coin cell type), so you could just buy the Intuvia 100 and the holder, links...

    Downgrading from KIOX to Intuvio

The Intuvia 100 and the Kiox 300 are both listed for use on Bosch Smart System bikes. As far as I can tell the Intuvia 100 (as opposed to the old Intuvia version) should fit in the existing Kiox 300 mount and cable, but to be safe rather than sorry you should confirm that with Bosch support or...

    Abus one key in UK?

Yes, I have used ebike24.com here in Germany for Abus one key locks, they are one of the few that offer the service and Abus don't do retail. They have the Bordo 6500KA with one key at 230.95 Euro (nearly 200 quid) which is also about 50 Euro more than the standard and also quote 3-4 weeks...

Fitting a tyre the easy way?

I'll take your word for it as I have no idea why a Brompton with Sun CR18 rim fitted with Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres, other than the small size, should be any different.

Fitting a tyre the easy way?

Don't even think of using levers to put the tyre on, no matter how carefull you are the tube will invariable get pinched and most likely punctured. Almost anyone should be able to put a bicycle trye on with hands only, if available, the use of washing up liguid generously applied to both sides...

Police could get Ghostbusters-style backpacks in fightback against fleeing e-bike criminals

Thank your lucky stars that anyone in the UK who fails to stop for the police can expect not to be shot in the back, the police still have to give chase and catch them, even though, once apprehended, they may fall down the steps on the way to the cells!;)

    Hi from Munich

British national but long term resident in Germany. Got into E-bikes a few years back when the hills and the headwinds started to get much harder work. E-bikes have enabled me to again be a regular touring/trekking rider continuing to enjoy the wonderfull scenery and excellent cycle ways in...
