    BBS01 US based supplier

Does anyone know a supplier for the BBS01 kit that is based in the US? I'd like to get a kit and battery delivered to a US address without it coming from China. Thanks

    Problems after replacing freewheel

Ah ok that may be it. It's just something I never noticed before even though it now makes a loud enough noise when the wheel is turned slowly. Maybe I need to find another one to compare. The squeak when going forward is definitely new.

    Problems after replacing freewheel

Would that be the case even if the motor is disconnected? How would I test that?

    Problems after replacing freewheel

Is that normal? I'd not noticed it before. The brake is disconnected when it squeaks. Not touching at all. It seems to be coming from the hub/freewheel. I've tried that screw. It doesn't appear to shift the derailleur at all. :-(

    Problems after replacing freewheel

No there's a gap there as well. The rumbling/notchiness as when i turn the wheel backwards so the freewheel moves as well and the squeak is when I move it forward.

    Problems after replacing freewheel

Hi d8veh Thanks for the quick reply. There's a good gap between the freewheel and the frame of a couple of millimeters. I cannot see anywhere that it is touching. Even if it were I'm not sure I could even get a washer in there as I already have to lever the frame open to get the wheel in.

    Problems after replacing freewheel

So I'm not sure what the problem actually is so I'm afraid this may take a while to explain (sorry). I have a Mezzo that has been converted with a rear hub motor. The 9-speed freewheel cluster was replaced with an 8-speed in the process and all was fine. I only had it after it was converted. I...

    Replacing cassette on hub motor

Saw the ones on ebay and noticed the name :) Looks like those are pretty much the only make available and mostly US from what Google tells me. I'll give him a shout. Thanks

    Replacing cassette on hub motor

Ah thanks. That's a shame. No experience with freewheels and now I have to find a 8-speed with 11 teeth which seems like a challenge. At least I'm going in the right direction now :-) Thnaks

    Replacing cassette on hub motor

I have a 16-inch hub motor wheel with an 8 speed cassette on it. I wanted to swap it out for a shimano hg50 cassette I have that has a lower tooth count. Unfortunately when I removed the wheel I found the cassette wasn't quite what I was used to (see the attached pic). Teh remover I ave...

    BBS01 with 30 teeth

The 30 tooth ultegra could be a possibility. The rear 25 tooth on the hub is the largest that Sturmey do but I believe the standard one is dished (and may be reversible) and there is a flat option. This may alleviate the chain alignment problems. I suppose without actually trying it out we'll...

    BBS01 with 30 teeth

Unfortunately the bike is limited to hub gears and the sturmey is the only make that will fit :-( If I had known then what I know now I would have done it differently. I could do a front wheel conversion but the crank motors seem so much neater. I've sent Sturmey (well Sunrace) a query. Thanks

    BBS01 with 30 teeth

I'm looking at converting a bike with using BBS01 or similar crank drive but the problem is the bike has a Sturmey Archer 8 speed hub gear which necessitates a front sprocket that is only 30 teeth. Is there any way to accomplish this with the BBS01 or is there a crank drive kit out there with...

    Replacing or repairing controller

It's all fixed now. It was the PAS in the end. It must have been shorting out as you said. The wires had a fair amount of bare wire and a little silicon to waterpoof but not enough to hold them apart. Redid the connection and it's all working now. I'll get a replacement when I can find one...
