false economy or investment for the future (of everything)?

Well I've got a bus pass and in Worcestershire there are no restrictions as to the times it can be used and coupled with the train is how I commute to work in Birmingham. Having said that and in the light of my ongoing driving ban the Ezee Forza has been a boon in getting around locally to...

    The falling £

Yes prices are going to rise considerably but may eventually be offset by an increase in demand hence lowering the cost of production. I mean with car sales down 25% as the credit crunch bites and G.M. and Ford toppling the sales of alternative personal transport systems must be rising. Soon you...

Is there a mechanic in the house?

Thanks everyone for all the input - I took flecc's advice and that seems to have cured the problem - tightening up the allen bolts retaining the cranks on the spline. They were pretty tight anyway and only tightened a fraction but it does seem to have cured the problem. Thanks all:)

Is there a mechanic in the house?

Thanks Flecc for the quick response - I'll check that out tonight. You could well be right as it seemed to me the left hand crank wasn't quite straight in the shaft when viewed from above while riding but just put that down to an optical illusion. The sound does remind me of that of a worn...

Is there a mechanic in the house?

My Ezee Forza has developed a bit of a knock - clonk or whatever from its lower regions and I am reluctant to start dismantling it in case I have not correctly identified the problem. The clonk occurs when pedalling - light cadence pedalling is ok but the clonk is distinct when putting...

    Camper Trailer

Its a lovely looking bit of kit but I doubt if there is a commercial market for it in this country - great for the continent (any) with decent developed cycleways but not the U.K. If I were considering doing long distance touring I think it would be using panniers and the YHA network most of...

    Long Distance Cycle Routes

Hi Caph I'm surprised that you've had no response regarding your query as there are so many knowledgeable people on this site. I don't know what bike you have and if that is the one you would intend to use. Personally I'd go for the new type of lightweight bikes coming out with either the...

A Network of Girlfriends, Each 25 Miles Apart

I haven't a clue. Anyway I much prefer your network of Girlfriend / Boyfriend idea and will aim to expand that until my appointment with the vet!

The world may end on Saturday!.

I see the press are now reporting that this infernal contraption may now cause a black hole into which we will all disappear when the thing is finally fired up shortly. Perhaps we will be spat out in a parallel universe where all e-bike batteries start flat and the more you use them the more...

Ezee Forza - anyone here push them hard?

I have a derestricted Ezee Forza which I mainly use to get about socially since I have lost my driving licence. I've always cycled and use the bike most days on keep fit routes of 14-15 miles as well as getting about town. I generally use the bike in pedelec mode and only use the motor on...

    cycle lanes

We have a similar situation around and about Worcester where there are quite a lot of combined cycle/pedestrian routes. These are hardly ever used by cyclists as the routes tend to meander about using cycle paths and side streets and have barriers at intervals to negotiate. Most cyclists head...

A Network of Girlfriends, Each 25 Miles Apart

I already have girlfriends radiating out from my home at 7, 18, 24 and 30 mile radius which is working well. :D Trouble is if Girlfriend A gets to hear about Girlfriend C or Girlfriend B finds out about D I am in deep do do's and will then have to pedal home - that is if I am in a fit condition...

Electric Kits for Touring Bikes ?

This thread has posed an interesting solution to my dilemma with my ill fated Lightning electric bike which is still in bits. I'm particulary interested in the comments regarding the Suzhou Bafang rear wheel option - is this obtainable as a kit or do you have to get the motor built into a rear...

    Wisper 905 GTS

If the picture was taken outside your council tenement block I shall be sending you a begging letter forthwith! The bike looks very nice and reminds me of a Vincent Motorcycle and I'd like to know more about adapting alternative batteries for other bikes such as my Ezee Forza as an alternative...
