Giant Twist Express RS2 - No Power

Did you follow the battery voltage to see where it stops?

De restrict for off road use

Especially as up to 17.08 mph is allowed in the standard. I reckon that I could get the guy off in court if he used me as an expert witness. What the wheel spins up to with the wheel off the ground is not the same as the speed when riding because of the response time. Also, the display speed is...

Giant Twist Express RS2 - No Power

Did you check the continuity between the red battery wire pad and the one for the orange display wire. It wouldn't make sense for it to be switched by a transistor because there's no way to switch the transistor on until the display is switched on. First step should be to switch everything on...

"Brompton weighs in on better battery laws to clamp down on eBike fires "

I agree with that. Most normal batteries have properly functioning BMSs. Everybody is trying to solve a problem without any data. We have no idea what caused any of the fires we've seen and discussed. They all look like very dodgy installations, and we have no hard facts about what sort of...

    Wisper Wayfarer H7 review

You only need brake cut-offs on bikes with crappy controllers that run on after you stop pedalling; however, some people see them as being useful as a quick way to cut power on any ebike. Like a throttle is useful as a means of getting instant maximum power, brake cut-offs give you instant zero...

Who's going to fix it when it goes wrong?

    Are you going to Spezi?

I get mine from Amazon - no need to drive, and they speak English, so easy to order.

De restrict for off road use

If you wanted to derestrift, you should have asked before you bought the bike. Some are easier than others. If you're any good ar electronics, you can hack the speed signal with a frequency divider, and if you're good with electrical stuff, you can replace the controller and LCD, otherwise...

    Smaller & Lighter eBike

You have to look at where the weight is. When you buy a lightweight bike, it's lighter because it's stripped of junk and has some lighter parts. The Wren is heavy because it's been made comfortable. If you want, you can make it the same as a new lightweight bike, by chucking the heavy seat and...

"Brompton weighs in on better battery laws to clamp down on eBike fires "

The first time I went to the Isle of Man TT week, a guy climbed the clock tower on Douglas promenade. It was an old 4-faced Victorian one with curly wrought iron decoration. The guy was extremely skilled in his climbing technique in the way he manipulated his body to climb the tower, which was...

    What's the answer?

The number of ebikes you need is n+1, where n is the number you already have.

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

Of course I am. I'm still trying to figure out their end game. Do they want to get him in jail so that they can suicide him? Some are saying that they're just trying to tie him up so that he can't campaigne, but I can't see that they would be that stupid, when he gets more publicity and support...

    What's the answer?

It depends on what you mean by nice to ride. I've ridden many quite heavy ebikes that were nice to ride.

Giant Twist Express RS2 - No Power

The battery probably isn't OK. You need to put it under a load to see if it shuts down. Hot off the charger, it should be the same voltage as the charger, which is normally 29.4v. The controller will shut down at about 21v and the battery will shut itself down at about 19v. If it were my bike...

    What's the answer?

A lightweight unassisted road bike requires about the same effort to pedal at the same speed as my electric MTB on level 1 (about 100w from the battery).
