    Money Transfer under £300

Healthy scepticism but the Transferwise system does seem to have worked well. The £300 we transferred this morning has already hit our French bank account! and the rate we got yielded 14.5 euro more than the post office international transfer offer (from which deduct £1 for the transaction fee).

    Money Transfer under £300

A good tip. Thanks. I've signed on and used it this morning to pay someone in France. A good rate and a quick and helpful service. It's amazing what you find on this site.

    carry bag

I used a Sport Direct bag for my Brompton (before the bike was stolen). It was pretty much a perfect fit. Price 59 pence. The bag was made of a similar material to IKEA bags and plenty robust enough for carrying the Brompton. You can see it here.. SportsDirect Medium Bag 4 Life - Sports Direct...

    advice please!

If you can cope with the idea of a step-through then ask Chevron if the Technium she was advertising recently in the Classifieds for £600 has been sold. That's a very good quality bike which is probably £1,500 worth of value at today's new prices. I went down the £700 new bike route (which I...

    E-Brompton - First Ride/Tweaks

Thanks for putting these photos up. I've enjoyed this thread from start to this seeming finish. Sadly, my phantasy about one day copying your efforts has been ended by my Brompton getting stolen. I can't see Brompton's own effort improving on you. atb steve

    please help!!

just a quick response to help get your sample size up. Caph and oigoi have said it all and on this forum flecc rules. my two purchases were entirely driven by member comment and just as importantly my decision not to buy from a major supplier near your university was in response to negative...

Affordable substitute for a Busch and Muller front light

Hi Kitchenman These bikes were first spotted on this forum by Saggitarius on 23rd May 2008. There is a photo in his post (search Technium). HarryB alerted us to the fact that Wiggle was selling them for less than £900 around June last year and that is when I got mine. I think Flecc said it was a...

Affordable substitute for a Busch and Muller front light

All the damage caused to my Technium/Agattu has come from carrying the bike on the car rack. And that's how I managed to break the front light (shimano dynamo). Looking for a replacement has been salutory in that the cheapest Busch and Muller replacements seem to be £25 upwards (steeply upwards)...

Wisper DaaHub arrives - what a bike!

I think the point is that eddieo's new bike looks like it has a big phallus mounted on it......

    Tweets

I do most of my browsing on a netbook using XP and Chrome as the browser. Resolution 1024. The Tweets button obscures text on my machine as well. In general, the sophisticated appearance of the newly designed website is too busy for me. It detracts from the content and the experience.

    Ebike as a tourer?

Good to know before I splashed the cash but disappointing. Has anybody come up with a working solution? (and thanks for the expert advice) atb steve

    Ebike as a tourer?

Couldn't you save money and just connect up a generic 24v 18ah battery? The Kalkhoff battery connection looks as though it would be pretty straightforward to use spade end connectors leading to a battery carried in the panniers. I'm toying with touring using this idea myself so please tell me if...

    How do you ride?

I started out at High Peak Junction with an immediate climb of 1320 yards of 1:8. The next climb is up to Middleton Top, it's probably not quite as long but also 1:8 and there's a longish 1:14 next up to Fridon. Not long after that I left the trail and went on the roads to Tissington by way of...

    How do you ride?

I ride a Technium - effectively a rebadged Agattu. It rides well without power and I'm interested in getting exercise. So, I use the battery to help on the hills but for the rest of the time the battery is just there as back up to give me the confidence to go the extra few miles. On a lot of my...
