None of the trike manufacturers recommend fitting a middle and battery on the front boom , apart from putting a lot of weight in front of the wheels ( modifying the handling ) it will put a lot of extra strain on the joint.
The vortex is complete , PITA most of the way , trying to complete an install half way up a mountain in a small village in Wales is not an ideal location ( apart from the views which are stunning ) even down to sourcing brake cables , Post to the area is not the fastest , we are going to invest...
Currently awaiting the arrival of the 3rd brake calliper and associated brake cables . The original handlebar furniture has been stripped off and the e- brake cables and speed sensor have been extended by 95 cm , leaving only the aux control panel and throttle cables to be extended.
We have just acquired another Ice trike , this time a Vortex , This time we are fitting a 48v tsdz2 with throttle and brakes and a 48v 13ah battery . The battery mount will bolt/ clamp onto the hard tail of the Vortex quite low down to maintain a low centre of gravity.
A third disc brake will...
Hi Folks ,
Does anyone have any links for the thin multicore cables used on e-bike parts .
throttle 3 and 4 core ,
brake 2 core
and 5 core aux wiring .
Currently stuck without a source .
I have seen the software on offer , We will wait until the unit goes out of warranty first .
This unit is on Ken's Sprint RS trike and currently l am thinking " what's not broke , don't try and fix "
Next modification / upgrade could be to an ICE Vortex with a similar setup with a double on...
We are in Mynyddygarreg, and retired . We have 2 ICE trikes, one a sprint X with a Shimano steps 6000 system with a electric 8 speed alfine IGH . The second a Sprint RS with the tongsheng tsdz2 48v system ( kit ) that came complete with battery from Woosh.
The Tongsheng tsdz2 is a better...
A lot of the original photos have gone missing due to me using postimage as a photo host , sorry that is out of my hands.
We lost my Friend John earlier in the year who was one of our Zombie fest group , John was a Triker and a very good engineer who designed and built the Folding frame on...
reopening the old thread again , a lot has happened in the last 4 years . Both trikes have undergone many mods and upgrades and are still in use .We have now worn out the original batteries and have now a pair of new ones , the front discs have been upgraded to 8" discs and a new shaped seat...
Next project will be fitting a second chainwheel to the unit. The 42 t chainwheel to the 9-32t cassette gives high enough gears but the mountains in this area needs a bit lower gears so hoping to fit a 30t inner ring.
Tsdz2 install on an ICE sprint RS
The Tsdz2 was supplied by Woosh .
Fitting on a tadpole trike required the battery leads ,the remote control switches and speed sensor lengthening by 80mm
After removing the chainset , it was a relative easy job to fit the motor and make a battery mount.
