Bafang clutch

As above a member on here did exactly that soaked his clutch in some degreaser or some such liquid to get his working worth a try.....

Try working some 3in one oil down into the clutch and wiggling it back and forward. Sometimes it works.

Got it steeping in degreaser, will leave it for a few days.

I just wonder if the springs are rusted away? saying that I cant hear anything rattling when I shake it.

If the connector is a std nine pin Julet then yes. All of the AKM's use a two stage gear set so internal hub gearing won't be too dissimilar.

Topbikekit do their own make as there is not an AKM 250w cassette model that I can see.

I would not use any water based degreaser as it may cause some rust.

That's the same as many other guys on this forum, but we all had a go and got success - very satisfying! I've built about 20 wheels now. I do it on my lap while watching a film.

Yeah.Building a wheel is all about patience and painting by numbers really!

Well, after a few days of soaking it in various liquids it wouldn't free up.
So I ordered a whole new wheel from eBay.
The new wheel will be here this week, so I thought I will strip the clutch down and have a look.

It was nearly there. So I cleaned it all up and lubed it up got my mate to tig weld the back where the pins are.
Fitting it back in the hub was a nightmare took me hours, wouldn't line up or engage properly with the teeth.
I left it and had another go next day and it went straight in, tried it and it works. Still got new wheel coming as I need something I can trust,
