Is £800 enough money to spend on an everyday ride to work bike.

HMMM. I'll be looking for a nice discount on my next bike by way of an apology from you. ;)

    Kudos typhoon and question

If you're cycling in a power level less than 5, the bike doesn't pull the same as when in level 5 so needs more leg power, if you do this and come to a steep hill, the thumb throttle will over ride the lower power setting as long as you're turning the pedals and give you full power. This is...

    Kudos typhoon and question

I've got a Kudos Typhoon. It has a simple pedal sensor which means, as long as the pedals are turning, even slowly, the motor will give full power if it's set to power level 5. It will go along a flat road like that and will go over the 15.5 mph cut out which then cuts the motor. The motor...

I've got a similar creak coming from my Tourer which I thought was from the front. I'll check the saddle next time I'm out. Thanks :)

    Helmets @ Aldi

That is your right to believe that. I always wear my helmet but would argue very strongly against compulsion.

What's the Smart e-bike really like...

It's horses for courses I guess. The last mile up to my house is all uphill with various gradients. I use more than 3 different gears going up it. If I only used 1st middle and top gear it would be harder to climb the hill. Sometimes when the gradient stiffens going down 1 gear on a multi geared...

What's the Smart e-bike really like...

The 3 speed gears would put me off it straight away. I like lots of gears so I can climb hills easily. I don't like the looks of it, if I was 14 or so It might look OK. I also dislike the claim of more than 60 miles battery range. If you can make a bike like that get 60 miles from the battery...

    Hub Gears

The Kudos Eiger is crank drive and comes with a choice of hub gears or dérailleur gears. The hub gear version costs about £1360 I think and has fancy gears which are constantly variable. The derailleur gear bike is £895.

Will the end of full speed throttles in January 2016 cause a rush to buy.

The TS is not a throttle, it doesn't work anything like a throttle. The TS requires you to do a lot of work for it to give you full power. Get on your bike and turn the pedals with no power in your legs, will the bike give full power? A throttle on a bike will give as much or as little power...

Will the end of full speed throttles in January 2016 cause a rush to buy.

So you don't need a throttle, put a disabled person on your bike then see if they can start on steep hills and clamp their feet to the pedals Just because some don't need a throttle doesn't mean that others don't.

Will the end of full speed throttles in January 2016 cause a rush to buy.

What I don't understand about the throttle debates on here is: 2 of the posters don't want a throttle so they are opposed to anyone else having them. Both of those posters have also made comments which show their true colours. What possible reason could anyone on here have for wanting...
