I may never bother to pedal again ;-)

not much more to add to this thread now, I just completed 60 miles on the second charge and to be honest I hooned about a bit to flatten the battery so I could get it on charge again. It would have done another five miles I reckon but there we go. Fitted some Marathon plus tyres today and at...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

E series 1750 in mine from the maxi, awful. The changes from hydraulastic in the 1100/1300 to hydrogas in the allegro made a reasonably comfortable small car handle like an awful small car. Had there been speed bumps back then they would have catapulted the rear passengers into the roof.

I may never bother to pedal again ;-)

I get back from a ride looking like I’ve been pot holing. Absolutely no major issues so far. Eagle eyed ones may notice the bits of Karimat jammed into the rack frame to stop the battery rattling, I’ll do something more elegant than that now I know it works. Battery capacity is great, this...

    New Conversion kit launching

Well you’ve edited your response since I posted mine so I’ll back out of the discussion at this point.

    New Conversion kit launching

Well I wouldn’t :-) I’ve never owned a bike with one. Obviously you know your market, if you are selling mainly to commuters and that makes a big part of your business then the chain guard would be a significant issue. Extra spares and another stream of support might be unattractive for a...

    New Conversion kit launching

To be honest none of the comments above would put me off this type of kit. I am absolutely confident that I could fit it without too much issue. The extra cogs and jockeys in the chain might need a bit of extra cleaning and possibly a bit of noise but probably not going to be significant. I...

?Bike Lights compatible with dutch handlebars?

Blimey! I was just looking outside and it’s going dark. I thought I’d better have a quick look online for a bracket to hold one of my torches to the bike. Absolutely first click on the iPad was this message :-) A pair are on their way here by the magic of prime and will be on the bike by this...

Cheap kit for "full electric" conversion (for foot injured wife)

Some of the mid drive kits allow you to zoom along the road by just turning the pedals rather than peddling, it might feel a bit more like actually cycling which psychologically might be better than just using the bike as a scooter. I was just wondering if that might be a better approach. It...

Cheap kit for "full electric" conversion (for foot injured wife)

I know you said she cannot pedal and needs throttle but I presume she can get to the bike and basically sit on it so she must be able to support some weight on her legs? Can she spin the pedals without actually putting pressure on them? As that might open up a few opportunities.

    Are indicators worth fitting

No not at all,.…. Just make yourself very visible and ride defensively as you should normally.

I may never bother to pedal again ;-)

20 miles today which dropped the batter indicator by two bars, I suspect tomorrow will be the first (second really) charge up so it will be interesting to see how far I get. No drama so far and thankfully my inguinal hernia hasn’t noticed the increase in exercise efforts. I had to wash it.......

I may never bother to pedal again ;-)

well it certainly isnt as clean now, today I put another 15 miles on it. I'm circa 14st and averagely fit and managed a comfortable 15mph over that route. Its a heavy steel frame with fat knobly tyres so any concerns I had about the motor lacking power are gone now. Makes mental note, warmer...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Its funny but the first realisation of ageing (apart from feeling old and creaky in the morning) happened to me just last year. I lost my old dog and after 17y it was a terrible wrench. I always go out next day and get another but this time round I had to look at the reality of taking on a pup...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

As I said earlier I don’t see a particular problem with supplying electricity to charge cars, I do see a significant problem distributing that electricity to where it’s needed to be able to charge those cars. In terms of generating capacity, In 2019 we relied on coal and gas to provide 47 GW...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Some of this was in my previous reply to your other post, they sort of crossed in the mail :-) I fully agree that a new tax model is more likely than simply putting tax on electric used although I’m sure that electricity prices will increase significantly as demand is placed on the generating...
