    Cycling. Health. Covid. Diet.

Are you a Medical Herbalist? That was the official line from the National Institute of Medical Herbalists for many years, but even they've changed their tune: https://nimh.org.uk/news-articles/herbal-medicine-and-the-coronavirus/

    Electric bike Cost

Like when they fall apart at the accounting on Dragon's Den? I only did a quick calc = 9,000 miles. Less, if there are are more badgers... (I'll be lucky if my battery lasts that long)

    Battery health

I've heard of that being recommended for ebike batteries which have been in storage at a very low charge for a long time. I wouldn't do it.

    Electric bike Cost

Assuming no new battery necessary over 5 years- about 25p per mile, including the cost of bike, conversion and any object I had to buy because I restarted cycling: clothing, equipment, non-electric bike parts and upgrades, wrist splints etc. etc. etc. it never ends!

Hoping this is sufficient to warn other cylists:

    Unavoidable Bicycle Badger Collision

How did you break your ulna, and how long before you restarted cycling? My left wrist is still very swollen, I've been told it'll be awhile... but I'm dying to go for a ride!

20" Hub Motor in a Jorvik Trike

It's weird that the Woosh website link for that kit doesn't mention axle size.

    Punctures

Reusable zipties came to the rescue when my old Marathon Plus tyres wouldn't as easily fit on my new rims... they had slipped onto the old wheels with zero fuss. Now I always carry several zipties in my repair kit, for all sorts of little securing jobs around the bike.

In that situation, the flag waver would be well adsised to wear kevlar trousers. I'm looking to wire to the ebike battery an ultrasonic deterrent, if I can find a waterproof version: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/274965950610?hash=

That could work! If the pole holding the scoop was much longer, and had an integral shock absorber: Both cyclist and wildlife would be then protected by a slow deceleration, gently pushing the badger safely away into the woods, at the end of the movement.

Truth is sometimes stranger than fiction. I should try and contact the gentleman you mentioned, to start a support group called "Badgered Anonymous" or something.

    Battery Repair & Recelling

To me, that photo looks absolutely terrifying! I have eco-minded mates who tried making ebike battery packs using salvaged cells. They were very good at the soldering part, but gave up because the battery packs either didn't supply enough current, had little capacity for their size, or...

    Unavoidable Bicycle Badger Collision

Mine arrived today. Now I'm (literally) sorely tempted to risk unsettling my wrist by dragging my bike up stairs to install it. 20W should be pretty bright. 1800LM? We shall see. I'll restrain myself for a time. A couple of these might help run the battery down, when needed.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Titanium will be difficult to remove, if left in too long. I really need to find out what the plate is made of exactly. Stainless Steel is supposed to be inert, but I don't think it is. It's sobering that I can look forward to arthritis, because of the breaks and implant.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I hope whatever alloy they shoved into my arm doesn't mess the rest of me up! The Consultant didn't actually know if the implant was Titanium or Stainless Steel, but the Radiologist (who had broken his foot skateboarding aged 15, repaired with steel plates) said that he'd seen the purchase...

Yes it's hard to note name and address when you're in a lot of pain. Permanent chemo sounds very unpleasant too, I hope you don't snuff it.
