    Cannondale Synapse Neo

Just joined the Neo 'club' Went for a test ride on Sunday, loved it. Really comfy ,relaxed ride and very smooth to pedal. Oh and it's bright red ! Not been out on it yet as I've been a bit ropey the last couple of days but should manage tomorrow. Can't wait !

    Disregarding UK pedelec laws

I often ride at 20mph on the road, doesn't seem dangerous to me ! The motor cuts out at 15.5mph though !

    Lcd problem

Thanks both, pity about the 850c,but I will take your advice and stick to a kt lcd. Regards, Rob

    Lcd problem

Yes ,'twas the buttons that got munched ! The kit was from electricbikeconversions.co.uk who are no longer trading. Don't know who made the motor but the controller and display are kt. Was looking at the kt lcd5 as a replacement,if repairing the buttons is no go as it seems quite a bit smaller...

    Lcd problem

For some reason some furry creature of the night decided to 'snack' on my bike ! It chewed lumps out of the saddle, bar tape and the up/ down control for the kt lcd 3 display . Is it possible to just replace the up/down button, which is separate to the display or will I need to buy a new display...

Good luck with the Neo. Be interesting to hear your thoughts after a few rides.

    Cannondale Synapse Neo

As for effort, I always use a hrm,and average and max would be similar. I do find it easier on the Genesis, it feels a more natural riding position to me, but then I was riding road bikes long before I got an mtb. Probably the main difference is the smaller area you present, I ride mostly on the...

    Cannondale Synapse Neo

Don't know if it's any help but ........... I have a favourite ride on which I use my mtb and gravel bike (not at the same time!) On checking my Strava times I'm 4mph faster on the gravel bike ( Genesis Crois de Fer). Both these bikes now have front hub kits fitted but the time difference is the...

    Cannondale Synapse Neo

BikeRadar weighed the Neo se at 18.5kg, don't know about the others in the range. Think the higher spec ones will be lighter but not by much ! Was planning on a Cytronex kit myself but I don't think it will give me enough power/range. I really need to try different bikes but as noted before...

    Cannondale Synapse Neo

I've been looking at this bike ! I was planning on an Orbea Gain but I don't think it will be powerful enough for me. After a heart attack I have to keep my heart rate down below 125, so I can't cycle up hills without assistance no matter how slow I go! As a keen cyclist I hoped to get something...

Time to face facts and get myself an 'E' road bike ?

Hi Roy, I think you're probably right about the power output. I don't want to avoid hills,it'd spoil all my favourite rides ! I have a Genesis Croix de Fer with a front hub kit fitted,36v 250w with 13ah battery. It's a bit of a lump ,weighs 20kg but rides nicely with and without power. I don't...

Time to face facts and get myself an 'E' road bike ?

Good luck with the Gain D30,that's the one I'm considering. I will definitely have to test ride , to make sure it has enough range and power as I have to keep my heart rate below 125 bpm. However I live about a mile from J E James which is handy ! Interesting what you say about the Ribble. I was...

Time to face facts and get myself an 'E' road bike ?

J E James in Rotherham have a couple of Orbea Gain road bikes for hire/test. £40 per day. Money back if you buy one ! Rutland bikes also do a similar scheme, except they deliver to your home and pick up again. It's somewhat annoying given the price of the bikes that you have to pay to test them...

    no need for high cadence

Nefarious, I think you are right ! I'm using an iPad and still having problems using the new site. For example if I click the smiley icon my screen locks and I have to return to 'menu'. So if anyone gets a 'like' or whatever,it will be entirely accidental! (Would put a smiley face here but...

    no need for high cadence

Hi, thanks for that, but I still don't understand why it says that. All I have done so far is read the thread , I haven't posted anything until my first reply to you.

    no need for high cadence

Woosh, Sorry but have no idea what you mean. I haven't posted in this thread and certainly haven't written anything offensive ! Unless there is another Roberticus ? Possible but unlikely ! Regards, Rob Ps sorry can't do the 'quotes' thingy

    Front Hub Conversion

Hi,I've recently fitted a Xiongda YTW 06 36v 250w to the front of my mtb. It has a KT 3 controller and lcd display and Pedelec sensor. This I ordered direct from Xiongda for about $190 (can't remember what the exchange rate to sterling was !), but had to lace the motor into the front wheel...

    Flats v spd

I've always used spd but decided to try some flats for the reason you mention.Ended up getting something similar to the photos for my mtb ,but find that I keep lifting my feet off the pedals especially if out of the saddle so only use them with my spd shoes now. However...................after a...
