How do your store your e-bike?

I usually store my non e-bike on a wall mounted rack similar to the one shown below. But given the weight of e-bikes the wall or rack may not be up to it. Anyone have the (almost) perfect solution to storing these.

    Help! Electrickery!

You haven't been specific about this issue, but if it is the one I think it is, please accept my apologies. There is a degree of discrimination in the way these statutory rights such as the Consumer Rights Act or (ironically) the Equality Act works with some mental health conditions. See if...

    Help! Electrickery!

@Depressed Please re-read and act on #2 and #28. You are letting your protection under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 drift away. There are 3 main time limits 1. 14 days if it was bought online. You have the right to return 2. 30 days. Another right to return/refund if faulty 3. 6 months. From...

Bike work stands and heated saddles in Lidl

I've just checked their latest Lidl flyers. Suspect @Deus has purchased the double induction hob by mistake. Don't forget to wear the iron pants or it won't work on the induction unit. https://www.lidl.co.uk/en/online-leaflets/19-03-25-03-lidl-weekly-4/view/flyer/page/20

Case studies - how has your electric bike changed your life?

An ebike hasn't changed my life - yet. Have had 2 failed attempts to get an ebike from internet retailers. The first one I played ping-pong with the courier who clearly didn't want to deliver on the day I was available so it was going back and forward to the depot. I even offered to pay for...

    Woosh or Raleigh?

Just to confuse you even more, have a look at the Decathlon Rockrider EST900 - mainly for the Brose motor with 90n torque and 500W battery. https://www.decathlon.co.uk/e-st-900-electric-mountain-bike-grey-275-id_8487240.html Downside though is that they are difficult to get a hold of - but...

Best accessories for new bike commuter

I'll vouch for the Ortlieb. I have two sets of 70l which I alternative between trips. Nothing gets wet even on the wettest days. But this leads me to a question and I hope the OP doesn't mind me jumping in. My new Specialized TL doesn't have the fixing point for the panniers' bike rack. I've...

Folding e-bike for 19.5 stone rider?

Most engineered products have a tolerance. +/- 15% might put it within the reach of the OP. Or alternatively if you were to state the tolerance, the OP might try to get within it. As Sotz says, when you start you might get additional benefits as well as getting to your destination.

    newbie . am I making a mistake?

Any decent engineer and I am assuming bike builders have them, would check the bathtub before they release. There is also a lot of computer simulation available. May not be used by smaller organisations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bathtub_curve

E-bike disassembly for travel on European trains

There is an excellent site called Rome2Rio that can help. And as said above, consider TER rather than TGV. TGV don't want bikes and TER are free. Earlier I thought you were going by train Mulhouse - Zurich which is doable if the bike is assembled. If you are looking at London-Mulhouse, then...

    newbie . am I making a mistake?

An unpowered Carrera Vulcan is about £400, so you get a battery and motor for £500. Seems an incredible bargain or current builders are just ripping people off. Halfords do a lot of bikes so can't see them selling stuff that would result in a lot of warranty claims.

    The Law

There is detail on the site that indicates it is a genuine company. Perhaps you might ask them to explain what legislation allows them to sell it as a bike. Then ask the DfT to confirm it. https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/08792299/filing-history

Spare battery, High capacity or dual battery bike?

All of the above have been considered but I start in Rome and end in Athens - its one way. I can get an Ebike with battery across on the ferry. But I can't get a battery into Rome or out of Athens. There are Bosch dealers in Rome where I can purchase a battery. I'll put it on the "For Sale"...

Spare battery, High capacity or dual battery bike?

Unassisted is my usual method but as I am travelling into remote parts of Greece and lack the language skills, I want to be sure to be able to make the distances or not have an issue with the weight of the bike plus panniers. This takes me to another question. You can't fly and ebike but you...

Help! Electric bike on cycle to work scheme

I'd second the comments about declared tolerances on weights. The "failure mode" can be any component that is stressed beyond its stated capabilities. In my case it was the derailleur while in the middle of France. If you do want to stress a bike beyond its stated limits also bare in mind...

Spare battery, High capacity or dual battery bike?

I've taken my own advice and RTFM'd the Bosch site for a comparison and can see the ALPs is actually what I need. The difference in in the start mode which I hadn't appreciated. Cube Acid looks to be the way forward but would welcome comments on this one...

Spare battery, High capacity or dual battery bike?

Thanks Andy. I've seen your comments about ALPs before. What is the difference between ALP and CX(Gen2) used on the R&M when the battery dies.

Spare battery, High capacity or dual battery bike?

I am sorely tempted by a R & M dual battery eMTB but for some reason my OH looked shocked when I told her it is just £6K. As I do a lot of bikepacking (unpowered), I'm looking towards getting some sort of assistance by using anE-MTB...
