    15mph assistance limit

I live in a hilly area, and the reason for wanting an ebike is to help me up the hills on the way home after a lot day at work. As suggested, I could see how I go on for a while and them order the dongle later I guess?

    15mph assistance limit

Thanks rich_r, that explains it nicely. As for the badass dongle, I've heard bike shops may refuse to service the bike if one has been fitted. If it was removed first, can the bike shop detect that it was ever there? From the fitting videos they seem fairly easy to fit remove. Are they traceable?

Makes me wonder, if the 21" suits someone who is 6ft 3", there cant be too many people needing the 24" size?

Congrats. Which size did you go for, and where from please. Im a similar size/height/build to yourself, and not sure whether the 21" or 24" would be best for me. I need to go try one. Looking forward to reading any updates.

    15mph assistance limit

Thanks. Can the dongles be fitted to all bikes with Bosch motors? I know the ebikeshop require their dongle to be ordered at the time as buying a bike from them, and won't supply them afterwards, or for a bike not purchased from them.

New bike, Bosch CX 500wh for £1600

They do look small don't they. If I can fit mudguards then I might consider one of these for short distance commuting, instead of the expensive Haibike.

    15mph assistance limit

A quick question about the 15mph assistance limit on UK ebikes please. I haven't ever ridden with a speedo, so I have no perception of whether Im often riding at around 15mph when commuting, or whether 15mph is a fast speed for me? Do most people find the limit to be annoying, with the...

Fat Bloke - Not cycled for years...

Im in a similar situation. I had a go at commuting on my non bike last year, but the hills I had to ride up to get home were agonising. I found the very thought of cycling up those hills after a days work to be too demoralising, so I gave up. But an bike would take the pain of those hills away...

    Haibike Trekking/Cross?

Thanks for the info. Im looking forward to trying them out later this month. I do like the look of the 2018 models. Shame it doesn't have the newer in-frame battery.

    Haibike Trekking/Cross?

Nice. Ive not even seen what the dongle looks like. Can the dongle be plugged/unplugged easily whilst out riding the bike?

    Haibike Trekking/Cross?

Anyone got any experience with the Haibike Trekking or Cross models please? Im considering buying one of them, mostly for commuting to work but also for cycling around the local park with my son. I notice ebikeshop can sell them with the speed restriction dongle, which might be useful away from...
