    Back ache

I've run 700x45 tyres at 40psi for gravel roads and makes huge difference to handling. The big risk when running below 50psi is pinch flat if you hit a big pot hole. While full suspension MTB are great they are also very expensive to maintain, rear shock and all pivot points need annual shop...

Check all external connectors on Motor have not worked loose. If it has dropper post check its cable where it runs around motor isn't interferring with wiring.

    SRAM EX1 first impressions review

Get tool that measures 0.5 and 0.75, cheaper ones only do 0.75 and 1.0. Given chain + chainring are about 10% of new cassette, I'd try changing closer to 0.5 mark than 0.75. Would be interesting to see how much longer cassette lasts.

You have your priorities right. A 20yr kitchen is still functional but 2yr old ebike needs upgrading.

Given how tight bead is, tubeless should work.

    1st weekend with Bergamont Trailster C 9.0

I replaced new Altus 9spd derailleur (still Altus shifter) with 5yr old Deore. Faster more positive shifts, XT would should be another step up again in performance.

    SRAM EX1 first impressions review

For £130 I can buy 4 Sunrace XT 11spd 11-46t cassettes. The EX1 chains are slight cheaper than XT KMC 11e €20 vs €25. With XT you have option of Di2 shifting which may help live of chain as it can be set to single gear shifts plus no shifter cables to replace. Probably better option if...

    Which helmet?

Not sure about large vent holes on top, not all crashes involve flat surfaced. Very little protection if hitting edge of rock or end of branch.

If you can live with limited range sunrace 11-40t with quality 9spd derailleur is lot cheaper to maintain. They do 8spd 11-40t but derailleurs are very basic.

    SRAM EX1 first impressions review

12 spd would be even dearer than EX1 to maintain. Rohloff would be lot cheaper option in long run you really need 500% gear range, unfortunately not ideally for FS.

Who wants a certified e-bike helmet?

I more expensive helmets, especially MTB ones give better coverage around back and sides, plus they come with excellent adjustment systems. I've written off two helmets in crashes, without the excellent coverage on my forehead I doubt I'd walk away from either crash. Comfort and weight is very...

    SRAM EX1 first impressions review

Replace bosch chainring(€8) with chain and do it at 0.75 stretch mark. The EX1 chains (€15) are cheap the cassette (€ 285) is not. Changing at 0.5 mark could be worth while given chain and chainring are only 10% of cassette. If cassette isn't one piece might be able to buy parts of cassette...

    Which helmet?

Specialized Ambush and lower cost comp Ambush. If you crash damage them replacements are discounted by 30%. Try a few different makes/models as head shapes vary.

    1st weekend with Bergamont Trailster C 9.0

You need to change bosch chain ring with the chain, at €8 its cheap way to extend life of chain. Shimano XT/SLX 11spd may not last as long as EX1 but parts are lot cheaper. Sunrace cassettes €42 every 2nd or 3rd chain (€25 +€8each). Alternatively try XT 9spd derailleur with clutch, 14t...

    Any opinions on Trek ebikes?

My wife's bike has nexus 8spd hub and Magura rim brakes, excellent combination. Still think disc are better option for fast steep descents, but Magura rim brakes are very good second choice.

Who wants a certified e-bike helmet?

This helmet is good idea, up till now only option has been MTB helmets for extra protection around sides. I don't think typical MTB bike helmets are designed for 45kmh impact. Downhill full face are not that practical for daily commutes, but they do offer excellent high speed & face protection...
