    Ezee F Series Sale

Let's not argue over the percentages! Clearly they aint selling at full price so Scott and Tim are cutting the price to shift them. Maybe there is a new F-series coming with upgraded batteries or maybe it marks a change in direction away from the moped/cruiser style most of us don't like...

    Motor fault

I imagine its easy to fix for someone who knows how to fix it! So it depends on how happy you are opening up a hub motor. Personally I'm not so, given that there are plenty of working Powabykes for sale, I'd give it a miss and go for another one. But if you're confident - good luck! Frank

    Ezee F Series Sale

Big discount! They didn't get the same glowing reviews as the Kalkhoff, Torq or even Quando, Sprint, etc. Perhaps they're just not selling? I'd assume at £250 off they'd have the pre-modification battery. I would be annoyed if I'd just bought one last week... Frank

battery life, charges do you keep records ?

Keith, It's a good idea. I suspect few of us are that disciplined! Frank

    Water in tyres

Ian, I've just thought about your comment a bit more as with an inflated tube there's no space for water to physically go. The Wisper rims are (like Powacycle) a type I'm not familiar with which has a large v-shaped bit on the inside. I think the water would go there, then find a way...

    Water in tyres

Ian, No it must have got in when I was riding in the wet on Friday. There was no water there the previous weekend when I had the front tyre off, and the bike shop took the rear one off to fix the puncture on the Wednesday. Stuart, The Wisper tyres are in fact the 'K-shield puncture...

    Water in tyres

Note to Wisper owners with the wide Kenda tyres fitted: After cycling in heavy rain, be sure to remove your tyres to drain excess water. This is particularly important if frost is anticipated!

Wisper 905se - torque arm (lack of)

A couple of people (including Wisper) asked me to post some pictures of my dropouts to show the deterioration after only 100 miles of use. I took the wheel out again yesterday to upgrade the tyres and took some pictures. Apologies for the indifferent quality of the pictures, taken of a small...

    Water in tyres

I guess it wouldn't run very smoothly after a heavy frost!

    Water in tyres

Is it normal to get water in tyres? I just changed mine and there was a couple of tablespoons worth of water inside each one. Never noticed that before. Frank

    Style (or lack of.......)

Jimmy, I think your point which I understand as 'why should ebikes look like normal bikes when they're not' is a fair challenge. But what I think that doesn't take into account is that half the power is still coming from the rider, who wants it used as efficiently as possible (as far as he...

    Style (or lack of.......)

Yuk! Basically a bike with a few gimmicks which either detract from or have no impact on performance but add to cost.

    I Can Hardly Believe It*****

The rain point is interesting. Yesterday when I set off in heavy rain I thought to myself I'm pleased that it's raining as it might make my Kendas more slippery and hence slip away from puncture-causing objects! Clearly I was wrong. Nevetheless, the Kendas survived what I hope is their...

    Looks familiar

Projone, Good luck with your plans as the market needs more ideas. I suggest that you might consider starting not with the bike, as many do, but with the customer and with the end-to-end experience of choosing, buying and owning a bike. So the questions would be: What type of bike do...

    Style (or lack of.......)

I'm with the 'make it as close to a proper bike as possible' camp. My other reason, apart from efficiency and preference for the style, is legal. As electric bikes can go in bike lanes and generally be classed as a bicycle, I rather think they need to look like one! Frank

    Mysterious Australian bike kit

Literally! It's like flash sites that take ages to open up. I suppose somebody must like them but I'm yet to meet a user who does!

    Raleigh Leicester E

I've just tracked down where I read the story about Raleigh UK intending to get into electric bikes in the future. It was in AtoB November 2007 edition, based on a conversation that David Henshaw had had with Mark Gouldthorp, the managing director of Raleigh, at the Cycle Show. It implies...

    Mysterious Australian bike kit

This is the Cyclone kit. Has received some poor reviews, I think mainly due to the nylon chainwheel not being up to the job. Here's their site (turn down speaker volume first!) Frank

    Wet!!

I got soaked on the way in. Its not a problem as I have a shower at work, but I had to buy some dry shorts at lunchtime. Dried my shoes with the hairdryer in the changing room! I don't like it in the morningn when I look out and its raining but the funny thing is once I've got going, I...

    What If

If the shop goes bust your statutory rights may have gone but the manufacturer's warranty is still valid. The manufacturer is obliged to find another shope to fix it for you. Of course, if the manufacturer is in China and doesn't want to find another shop for you, you may indeed be stuffed!
