    New supply from china

Great thanks Flecc that makes sense.

    OK another technical question

Have not really tested that yet. The new controller does have cruise control which is kinda neat thought.

    OK another technical question

Ha!! Just when I thought I'd gotten clear! So the battery itself may not allow more than 10a to come out of it huh? Wow. The things I am learning...... mind you on the Oxygen site it says 576W 'peak only during climbing or start' so I am assuming the battery management bit is allowed more...

    OK another technical question

Thanks Frank. It must be the motor that's making the difference - thats my conclusion so far - the Oxygen's motor is getting just as much oomph (from the battery and the controller) - but delivering less speed than the Burisch. That has to be the answer.

    New supply from china

OK - so at that site I see the following controller: "Power:500W 36V 500W Max. Cut-off Current: 21A Discharge Cut-off Voltage: 31V 48V 500W Max. Cut-off Current: 21A Discharge Cut-off Voltage: 42V36V/ 48V" So it seems to me......... that the 36V variety would deliver a max of...

    New supply from china

Well maybe not quite that fast - but getting close to that.

    New supply from china

Great thanks Flecc. It would seem that my Burisch must have a 305 RPM motor - because 23.6 is about exactly the speed it tops out at. The pieces are beginning to come together!

    OK another technical question

OK - I am probably showing how not-bright I am in this conversation but so be it. Here's a few interesting facts: (bear in mind my main purpose behind all this has been to make my Oxygen bike go as fast as my Burisch bike - OK?) My Burische controller says its 'peak protection' current is 12a...

    OK another technical question

And now I'm confused again......... you say all motors are rated at RPM per volt (revs per minute). Huh? I've seen them rated RPM (revs per minute) - but not revs per volt (which would be RPV?). Or was that a typo?

    OK another technical question

OK - I think I am getting this - so basically if I want the bike to go faster I need the controller to deliver more current to the motor - or more potential difference (volts). I get it. I think I blame the guy who sold me the new controller who seemed to suggest that with the bigger capacity...

    OK another technical question

Just for the hell of it (OK to see if I could make the think go faster) - I tried out a new controller for my oxygen bike. It said it was 500W 'unrestricted'. OK. Fair enough. I wired it up and did not connect the two white wires together (if you know the answer to this question I think...

    New supply from china

OK that looks interesting thanks Frank. Somebody help me out here - there are some motors on their site that say the maximum RPM is 250 - and others that say the maximum RPM is 305 - some even say the max RPM is 365. Fair enough - now you would think that would be because some are rated 250W...

    Mad!

Well I wrote a very nice polite reply saying thanks for sending me the information. Everybody's trying to make a buck and I won't knock somebody for the effort. Nobody is forced to buy one - and if its selling then somewhere there's a market for them - obviously not here - but somewhere...

    Mad!

Well I got answers to my questions - main one from my interest is the weight...... 65lbs! Sheesh! Whats that 30kg? WAY too much! Ah well. Here's what they said: "Dear James, We have several options regarding the motor and battery sizes. The basic details are as per below: 250-2000W motor...
