A dog cycle trailer that looks like a caravan

Considerations of weight just don't enter this girls thinking, do they? German heavy engineering at it's best - love it.

    DVM accuracy.

I've measured the charger voltage now, it's also coming up as 41.5v. So probably supporting the view that my dvm is reading 0.5v low. Also showing that batteries are charging to the full charger voltage. May dismantle the dvm and see if there's a pot to adjust.

    DVM accuracy.

Yeh, must check the charger. I just wasn't sure if what was being measured was actually 41.5, or if it is actually 42 and the meter was reading low.

    DVM accuracy.

So, I've just received my re-celled battery back from Insat. (8 days from pick up to delivery - wonderful). Given it it's first full charge and thought this would be an opprtunity to check my dvm. This battery, and an older soft shell one, is Boston Power cells. I use a dvm to check battery...

    Battery Ignoramus Question

Except that a fully charged 36v battery should give you in the region of 41.5-42volts.

    License for bikes ?

How have fines, and even prison sentences, stopped uninsured and unlicenced drivers? Until there is a generally accepted movement that personal responsibility is cool, nothing will change. Rather than a punitive approach (which demonstrably doesn't work) an encouragement of self elected communal...

Will a Direct drive hub work on a KT controller??

Have a look at the Bafang bpm that Woosh does. Geared front hub with plenty of hill climbing grunt that will not eat batteries like a DD.

    License for bikes ?

I agree with Daniel. Being a total ar***ole is a state of mind. What this woman did was common assault, already covered in law. Surely, in Bloomsbury, it will be on cctv. The other issue is, as I understand it, cyclists have been told that it is OK for them to ride on the pavement (with due...

    Batteries in parallel

There must be some curious things going on when two slightly different potentials are connected. All I can go on is what I'm capable of measuring. When I measure my individual batteries, before connecting, I may see 41.5v and 41.8. When connected I will see 41.6 or7 at the end of the Y lead...

    Advice for 20" hubs.

Yer, that's right. Anyway, kit's are ordered and about to order the 16Ah batteries from yose.

    Batteries in parallel

I'd say no because they will charge to different voltages and have different discharge characteristics. I've been running two batteries for a while now but they are both Li-ion. I measure the voltage at the terminals EVERY TIME before I connect them together. Sods law says that the time you...

    Advice for 20" hubs.

Thanks Neal, I didn't know the max draw of the controller. Plus, it seems to be a good price for a 16Ah battery, so I was a bit suspicious.

The kit's been ordered from BMS. The battery's going to be ordered from Yosepower. He wants to go for big batteries and is keen on this one: https://www.yosepower.com/en/product/Original-Rear-Battery-LG-Cell36V16Ah(592Wh)-Electric-Bicycle-Li-ion-Battery+3A-Charger-black-DIY-75.html The spec...

    Hybrid cars

I wish an electric vehicle would suit me, I really do. I'm 65 and totally debt free. I live rurally (nearest bank branch is now a 28 mile round journey) in a terraced house with no driveway or garage. I've never had the capital, or wish, to own a new car (the initial depreciation I find...

    Advice for 20" hubs.

Well, if it's 135mm as in Harrys photo, then I don't think it's going to be an issue. As I said I can spring the forks to 134 with my 65 year old arms. Maybe just maybe it will centralize as is, but I don't think a spacer or ar washer, on the inside, is going to be too much. I'll be buying...

    Advice for 20" hubs.

Another thought. In all this I still don't know if the Q100H axle is actually 140mm or not. I have just found a thread on ES. A guy there called Motomech reckons that all Q100 series are 135mm dropouts. Now with swmbo holding the tape measure, I'm able to spring the chainstays to 134mm with...

    Advice for 20" hubs.

WOW! This is getting way beyond my pay grade. I know that aluminium stress fractures, on repeated bending, easier than steel. But this will be a static bend, won't it? In other words once the stretch is made it stays there (the 140mm axle holds it apart) it's not a repeated action. I...

    Advice for 20" hubs.

OK, so there's a difference of view on the flexibility of aluminium, I've heard that ally frames give a harsher ride because of it's lack of flex. Can't say that I've noticed. The issue here is, am I going to be able to get the motor axle inbetween the rear forks. I can see how not having a...
