Just what changes are due in October?

Both Aldi and Lidl locally have been rebuilt/refitted in the past couple of years. They have far more frozen and chilled units with doors/lids. But there is nonetheless a part of each which is darned cold. Especially when you go from a warm/hot day outside in short sleeves/shorts... But they are...

Supermarkets are crazy, though. Many, many years ago (1970s?) M&S proudly proclaimed how their shop refrigeration units would be used to heat the stores and be super-efficient. Now, if ever I visit, I get frozen in M&S because they spill so much cold air. And deafened by the incredible noise...

If only they could link up tarmac to the grid... (Well aware that there have been many attempts at building solar collectors into roads. Few yet showing any real promise for major roads.)

Having tried to convince everyone that not only is a twelve week gap acceptable, despite manufacturers advising shorter intervals, but that it is actually better, we now hear of attempts to shorten the gap so as to raise the numbers who have received both. And handily ignore that the Janssen...

How will they levy an increased electricity charge? If they do so on dedicated chargers, expect an increase in people charging via 13A. Mileage charge is interesting but could cause a degree of antipathy from many - depending on how they intend to measure mileage.

Pedalo manufacturing has something in common with gin-palace-on-the-water building. So, no chance. Remember what happened to Maxwell on his yacht (or was it off his yacht?)? Could you see Johnson pissing over the side, then suffering micturition (or post-micturition) syncope followed by drowning?

Makes me wonder why Johnson is short-changing the Windsors - and the "friends" - who are expected to make use of this thing. https://www.atlasmarinesystems.com/most-expensive-yachts/ The very least expensive in that list isn't far off in terms of cost. But you can bet your bottom dollar that...

I think we know why Johnson missed all those Cobra meetings - and much else. Having become RC, he had to go to confession - which took an awfully long time...

I don't completely agree with you there. If you have a long queue of traffic, a hybrid is likely to chuck out far less than a pure ICE. Even with engine stop-start - the hybrid egine can run for a while, fully charge the battery and switch off for a relatively long time. An ICE would have to...

Of course including hybrid! My ICE car can get as good or better mpg on the right sort of run as the hybrid I often drive. The hybrid is far better for jumping into and pottering into town and back. Maybe five miles round trip. If I extend the trip a bit, like going to check the sea is still...

Hancock denied the claim and a No 10 spokesperson said on Thursday night : “The prime minister has full confidence in the health secretary and will continue working with him to protect public health and save lives.” So if Hancock goes down, the splashback will not be pleasant for Johnson. And...

Funny, isn't it, that last spring Cummings' Barnards Castle story was endorsed by Johnson himself - and implicitly supported by the whole tory party. (Some might well have not been happy, but once Johnson provided support, they had to either accept or overthrow Johnson. And we all know which...

When it comes to stupid things to vote for, there's no shortage. I had been going to mention a few parties from 2019 GE but there were too many to choose from! So how about: Ann Widdecombe has failed to reach the semi-finals of BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing Not quite enough votes but she...

I hope that the inquiry will ensure a future in which things like emergency planning, PPE stockpiling and acquisition, etc., are not able to be treated as political baubles. Cast aside if the current incumbents don't have the attention span to understand them. Ignored. Used as ways of reducing...

They NEEDED to die? But ministers are responding to some of Cummings’ allegations and Jenrick said he did not believe probably the most damning one of all - that “tens of thousands of people died who didn’t need to die”. Asked if Cummings was wrong to make this claim, Jenrick replied...

If they get rid of Johnson, there will be many questions as to why they chose, and put up with, him in the first place. That might splatter back at Gove and Sunak.
