    Fixing an aluminium frame

I guess there are quite a few lighter ones on the market. The problem is that the last bit of weld took a small bit of tube with it leaving a hole. I`m still using the bike but, it might compromise long term strength. Andrew

What's in a Name? Or, We Want Our Name Back!

Ahh the good old lithium "envirobike". It replaced the "cadmium classic". I have doubts about boasting on the electric bike green credentials. The last environmentalist -I spoke to- heard about my two "envirobikes" and my lpg car and still claimed that really I should get a "normal" bike or...

    Schwinn battery & charger

After plodging through a couple of reviews I came accross some of the Schwinn bikes. I have a couple of questions.. 1) Are these available outside the US? 2) What are the chances of getting hold of the Schwinn Protanium lithium polymer 10 AH battery and charger? Andrew

    Fixing an aluminium frame

Problem is that the last bit of weld was really good. Before realising what happened, I kicked the stand down and it fell off taking a 5mmdia circle of tube with it. The question I was going to ask was can I get the bike welded with the controller & motor fitted? I don`t want to blow them...

    Bike Maintenance

Understand what you say on the jetwash. I never blast bearings or close paintwork. I might try grease on the chain this winter. ~S~ Andrew

    Fixing an aluminium frame

The hefty steel twin stand eventually fell off my suede e this week taking with it the alloy frame plate. On the up side I`m about a kilo less weight, on the down side I need to find someone in Derbyshire who can weld aluminium! I can`t say I knocked it off, but it has rattled an awful lot...

    Giant Suede

I had a new battery made for me by eddy at cellpacksolutions for a reasonable price. If you are looking for a a cheap reliable bike, I had a test ride (at a bike shop in Swadlincote) of an I-go... badged currie drive/mongoose and lead acid battery. It was pretty lightweight and ran very well...

    Giant Suede

mmm difficult one here, Lotsa people don`t like the hub giant suede with a vengeance . Ever since Giant discontinued the Twist in the UK. I have been commuting to work over hills for a year now on mine. My speedo registers 15 when on the flat-full throttle:) My battery died after 12months...

    Batteries and cold weather (brrrr)

I generally time my NiMh charge in order to have a warmer pack before starting!! Gets me the 8miles ish over hills to work fine. It will be interesting to see how my new charging point (outside) at work will affect return journey performance on the colder days. Last year I used foil backed foam...
