I did put a new valve in. I think there was a poor fit between the valve stem and the valve, when screwed in air could still escape, just one of those annoying things.

petition to increase the speed limit

I salute you early adopters. I guess I was quite an early adopter riding an ebike. My ebikes take me to work and back and to the shops and general errands of all kinds. The argument for buying an electric car for me personally is not quite won yet. My posting about the fusion I bought for my...

Had a bit of a rear tyre saga I began a pattern of 6 days at work that started on Wednesday the 29th of July, and being late start jobs should have allowed me to ride 6 consecutive 12 mile off road rides to work and then a 10 mile road ride home late at night. I mentioned that on the last ride...

petition to increase the speed limit

Ford Fusion owner diesel 2009, no emissions equipment, cost very little second hand, under £2000, 60mpg, £30 to tax, heated front screen, parking sensors, air con, 4 doors, good stereo, and because I ride an electric bike everywhere I last filled it with fuel before the lock down. The children...

petition to increase the speed limit

I feel some sympathy for new pedelec member jimriley not probably understanding the arena of entrenched views that this semmingly innocent question sets in motion. Us old hands know how this debate will always be! To be fair to jimriley and not withstanding the great knowledge of flec on the...

    E-Bike Security

Best security if you leave your bike in Town or at the station is a good lock and an old very used bike that you have kept in good working order but basically looks crap.

    Pannier bag/s

You only need to adjust the lower clips once if you are attaching the bags to the same pannier rack. They only need to be adjusted again to fit the panniers to a different pannier rack on another bike, and I have found this quick and easy to do. This means you can quickly and easily swap them...

Postscript. I was so annoyed about the vandalism to my bridal path that I made an online complaint to the council. I included information of the OS map I used and 6 figure map reference, together with the name of the road the the bridal path led onto and the names of the parcels of woodland...

Fern Time Lovely 12 mile ride to work yesterday. The ferns on one of the tracks I use have almost taken over! Slight annoyance on my 10 mile road ride home as I could not select gear 9. Meant I was spinning my old legs faster than I prefer in gear 8. However I could still hold over 20mph on...

bike without single point of failure

This happened to me on my £100 second hand rear hub Oxygen Emate. " Something that could have been a bit of a disaster on my Friday morning commute was saved by having a throttle. Climbing a steep hill with still 4 miles to go the chain broke. I retrieved it from the road, and although I do...

    Hello!

I am sure someone will tell me I am wrong. but a tubeless set up is more for running low pressures off road. For riding on the road just fit a appropriate pair of schwalbe marathon plus tyres and you will be very unlucky to get a puncture.

    Idiot in a Mercedes

Come the revolution, make all car drivers ride a bike for a week once a year! Maybe make Andy-Mat ride a crank drive for a year!!

    Idiot in a Mercedes

Empathy, the older I get the more important I think it is, and the more I see it absent in our self obsessed modern society, to the point I think it should be taught in schools. "Walk a mile in someone else's shoes. The admonition to walk a mile in someone else's shoes means before judging...

    Idiot in a Mercedes

A bright flashing red light on the back gets you noticed by approaching cars from the rear. I noticed a difference straight away after adding one to the back of my bike. I think bad drivers can turn up in any make of car. In my area the arrogant entitlement approach to driving seems to mostly...

    Rural commute

A hard tail electric mountain bike that you can fit a rack and mudguards to sounds just the job. Rear hub is generally more reliable and kinder on the transmission, crank drive is more capable off road and better at climbing steep hills. The woosh bike looks good. Do not worry about the...

The tale of a £100 second hand electric bike.

As I near a time I could retire I know what you mean VFR. I will really miss my ebike ride to work and back when I retire. I worked for years in a career that involved wearing smart suits and driving a company car, and mountain bike riding was strictly a leisure activity. The credit crunch of...
