Daily 17km Commute - some steepish hills..

Although I have never owned one many pedelec members rate the bikes whoosh sell and are within your budget and worth checking out.

    Moving to amsterdam

Sounds good to me. Living in Amsterdam or somewhere near by like Haarlem where I have spent a little time and ridden a dutch bike into Amsterdam on their fantastic bike infrastructure was great fun.

New Legal Speed Limit: What should it be?

QUOTEI feel a little more is needed but 20 could be a bit much around people to be honest. I do feel the current limit is just below what is ideal for most. Maybe there could be new rules that allow higher speeds on roads but keep the current limit on cycle paths and near people. The thing is...

New Legal Speed Limit: What should it be?

I noticed that I touched just over 62 kph on my ride home from work today with the motor off and me crouched over the bars down a short but steep hill. I think we all enjoy our little debates about what speed limit we would prefer but after being on this site for a while now it is clear that...

New Legal Speed Limit: What should it be?

Oh there was one idea I had. Instead of a speed limit where the motor cuts out I thought that you could keep the speed cut off for the higher power settings but have no speed cut of for the eco setting. This would remove the hitting the wall issue some people have at the momen.

New Legal Speed Limit: What should it be?

My vote would be 20 mph although I cannot see any changes happening any time soon. After all if you are happy with the current limit you do not have to ride any faster than you do at the moment. For any regular commuter on the road in the mix with other traffic going that little bit faster in...

Haibike sDuro HardSeven SL 2015 Yamaha (7 Month 1600 Miles)

There is a sort of height adjustment system on my rear rack where a rod with a screw hole in it slides inside the tube of the supporting leg which has a number of pre drilled holes allowing you to screw the rod firmly into the down tube using which ever pre drilled hole is appropriate. Anyway...

Do we have a “Volt” bike representative among us?

Muddy I posted my reply just as you were posting yours and I posted the above before reading yours, which is a decent response and takes the heat out of it and probably a pretty good example of a digital hand shake.

Do we have a “Volt” bike representative among us?

Handbags. From when I played the odd game of Pub Sunday League football you would occasionally get two players from your own side falling out. Always amusing for the meager band of supporters on the side lines. Here we have two Volt owners winding each other up. Though I have noticed before...

What do you do to prevent theft of your e-bikes/battery?

This Haibike has been left regularly by a commuter at a station in Surrey I use for over a year without mishap, although I would not do it myself!

    Puncture avoidance

Yes I think you should be fine. I ran some Schwalbe smart sam plus green guard I think with slime tubes using them about 50% off road and never had a puncture. Although I have not used them myself the Marathon design would appear to be very popular with many pedelec members using them...

    Kalkhoff/Panasonic charger

Having just read through this thread and recently bought an Oxygen Emate city bike for £100 for spars and repair for my 2011 Emate and having got it home found it in better condition than the bike it is to be spars and repair for I have been inspired and just popped out to the garage to connect...

Do we have a “Volt” bike representative among us?

I had a similar experience with a 400Wh Yamaha Battery when a connector pin where the charger connects to the battery sheared off. The dealer I had bought the bike from had given me really superb customer service on all other issues I had with the bike, so it was a bit of a shock when I was...

A rare piece of history - Swizzbee

Hi Nealth, you commented on an Oxygen Emate city that was you sale for £100 that I told the owner I would happily get on my return from holiday to use as spars for my 2011 Emate City. I thought you might be interested to know that I did make the effort and picked the bike up, sportingly...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

Set off at 7:00AM for work and wore long sleeved top under a wind proof cycling jacket, wool gloves and cycling track suit style leggings for the first time after all the heat of our departing summer. I quickly discarded the jacket after warming up. It was quite nippy with a distinctly autumnal...

If you do not want the faff of doing the conversions yourself Darren at Brighton Bikes could be worth considering but would cost a bit more.

    Disappointed with a Pendleton e-bike

I notice e-bikeshop farnham are selling entry level Haibike sDuro Hardsevens for £1599 at the moment and I have been using a 2015 very similar bike bought from them to commute to work and back that is close to 10000 miles now and on its original battery. You can find my very long warts and all...

eMTB owners photo and ride thread.

Eddie if it looks steep in a photograph, and it does, it has to be pretty steep. From the look of it traction or lack off combined with the steepness as well as the odd helpfully exposed root seems to combine to make it quite a hard one to crack. I cannot tell from your photograph what sort...
