Well today concludes my four days at work, all journeys to work on off road routes of various lengths followed by a 10 mile road trip home. I used two full batteries and 45%of a third battery to complete the 94 miles I traveled, giving a theoretical range of 38 miles per battery for my 400Wh...

Would you leave your electric bike at a station all day

I think if you work normal-ish hours when the station is busy and there are platform staff around it will be much safer than later into the evening or overnight. I have always believed that stations are sadly a high risk area for bike theft.

Would you leave your electric bike at a station all day

I have noticed this Haibike left locked at a local station quite regularly for around seven months now. It hasn't gone missing so far!

Last week due to start times I did 5 return trips to work and 120 miles, but just on the road using my old rear hub Oxygen that was my first electric bike bought back in 2011. Today with an afternoon start time I was able to use a much more pleasant off road route to work on the Haibike.

So you have warned him that the bright light beaming through the wood at night is not an alien from encounters of a third kind but little old you on your electric steed. Peace man. or at least we hope so.

    Opinions and suggestions

When I looked at the new Motus Tour on the ebike shop Farnham web site the hub geared version had 7 gears not 8. The hub version does look an appealing low maintenance every day bike prospect. By all accounts the new least powerful bosch active line motor is the quietest and much quieter than...

Haibike Yamaha - battery replacement options

Sorry to hear that doomo, I was hoping this battery would be a viable option when my original Yamaha one finally gives up the ghost. The good news for me on my 10 to no more then 18 mile commute, 28 maximum round trip with the chance to recharge at work is that the battery is now in its fourth...

    Yamaha Battery/Charger Problem

Done another 100 miles since connector fix. This time late shifts allowing me to enjoy some proper off road fun on the way to work. This is the environment where a crank drive comes into its own and my reason for buying the bike, to open up the more demanding routes available to me and get me...

    Oxygen Scross MTB ongoing review

About a year ago the fuse on my Yamaha charger blew in spectacular style when I plugged it in at work, and typically on a day that I had set off to work with about an 80% charge rather than full. This left me with 52% for the 10 mile journey home. However once at home I would have no means of...

Range on a New 500mAh Bosch

I was slightly reluctant to reply to Gubbins queery about how I manage to achieve around a 20mph average speed on my road ride home due to the way many threads have previously got derailed by the legal bike/non legal bike polarising argument, and how certain members who are entirely rational...

That looks like a fantastic ride Eddie. It is the right time of year to do it. I came home from work last night/early morning around 01:30AM following in parts the valley of the river Wey and there were small patches of thick mist. The temperature had also fallen away quite markedly.

Range on a New 500mAh Bosch

Beautiful Symmetry My 14 mile mostly off road ride to work today used 25% of my battery, giving a theoretical range of 56 miles from my three years and two month old 400Wh that has covered 9122 miles My 10 mile faster ride home using more assistance to achieve my 20mph average speed used 35%...

It has toiled away deflecting mud for over 9000 miles. Have some respect. Yes recently it has sagged and probably I need a new one but it continues to do its job. Good show.

I took a longer 18 mile route to work today looping out cross country close to Thursley to take in the countryside around Frensham and Tilford on my way to Farnham. Woodland adjacent to Thursley Common Forked Pond Thursley Common Hankley Common Hankley Common Lion's Mouth, Atlantic...

    Yamaha Battery/Charger Problem

DIY easy fix for Yamaha Battery/Charger Connection Problem Well we ended up opening up the battery and soldering the wires directly inside where they cannot be bent or broken. Nothing dreadful happened when we opened the battery case and the battery charged just as before when we had put it...

We were very lucky with the weather. I was having to hang back from the bike in front to avoid the worst of the kicked up dust. I cannot say I was expecting that in Wales. Normally it is an enjoyable festival of mud. Lots of new born lambs and fabulous scenery.

Hi Oyster, I was born and brought up in Hampshire which is another lovely county, and moved to Surrey with work. Surrey offers great cross country tracks with hills and ridge lines to provide views, a lot of common land, woodland and a lots of lakes. I am a couple of weeks back from a boys...
