    Brexit, for once some facts.

Well one doesn't have to go to France for that. I had a Renault Scenic , which was rear ended by a Ford Transit. ..and an insurance write off. stopped at traffic light and he let the clutch out and hit me at about 5mph Car worked fine of course but neither boot nor rear doors would open...

The point was he was fully prepared to let me go elsewhere .. That is the integrity bit. He was not prepared to put his name to a kludge. . You might , he wasn't. Yes The defective tyre was probably OK, and the other was certainly OK. I would expect that he did sell the good tyre eventually...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Lazy is double edged term. When one is organised , it doesn't look much different than lazy.. except that people are not racing around chasing their tails. Things just get done. The inflexibility bit ... Is also very true a few years ago a I had just changed the 4 car tyres to fresh ones, and...

Which is why I speak from experience.... I tend to visit my French property for about 8 weeks each year and have done so for 20 years, previously I toured extensively by caravan, for 10 years and had a few previous visits ..once for a month as a guest of their Science Research Council at an...

You have successfully confused me.. not perhaps the most difficult of tasks, but were not those lorries somewhere on the streets of Dover, and is Dover not somewhere in the UK? And why would a light infantry regiment be employed fighting against a phantom enemy in Kent?. So what the !!!!!,has...

The last sentence actually says it all.. the French are extremely well organised. They take the Liberty, Fraternity , Equality mantra very much to heart, and organise themselves very comfortably for themselves. Well organised, well structured, but not very flexible.

Been there as it were and have the teeshirt. I still have an UM 22 7 speeds small wheel bike .. foldable from about Match 2007 ,I think . It gave sterling service for about 3 years on the original battery. In and out to work 3 to 4 miles each way ,5 days a week. Saved itself on car parking...

Receiving goods from the EU post Brexit - no deal

Welcome to the real world... The smaller operation in Germany is not going to bother with the additional paperwork of dealing with a retail customer buying from London. It is different with a fully registered company , which even today gets their goods VAT exempt, but pay locally.

It is not an unconditional surrender .... It is very conditional.

Receiving goods from the EU post Brexit - no deal

As I see it, any EU exporter will charge their countries domestic VAT on their sales..anywhere ,to any customer who is not commercially registered. So your hi fi kit coming from Germany using eBay or Amazon Gmbh to a home in the UK will appear with VAT included. And your visa bill will include...

"In the new year, VDL may change her tune.".. I don't think so . If it the same snippet I watched, her words were very well chosen. The sentence at the end very telling. Paraphrased it says .. this job is now finished. If there is to be a new future it is Is European.

You read me wrong..I haven't expressed any desire to have the UK punished, nor do I want them to fail. I have expressed on many occasions that I have relations there. Obviously I don't want them discommoded. But I now have had a short opportunity to read the Trade deal, and the amount that is...

There exists an opinion piece in the Irish Times of about 10 days ago, by Fintain O Toole, as editor.. it might be instructive for you to read it. In essence it reminded the EU to let the UK believe they had achieved their goals

Zlatan. .. you are getting delusional. The UK needs the EU more than the reverse..and this will become very evident soon. The EU did not and does not want an Albania lodged between Holland and Ireland. The Trade deal is very welcome , the hiatus in the fishing debacle is extremely welcome, but...

According to the Irish Times. At least Erasmus and the European Health Insurance Card remain for NI residents. The RoI will underwrite them. The view being that as NI residents, they have the right to get treated as EU residents ..and with Irish passports ,as EU citizens.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I am delighted that some form of accommodation has been reached between the EU and UK. Our view is that the best Brexit is zero Brexit, and the Worst Brexit would have been a no deal WTO Brexit. It will take a few years to tease out what actually has been lost or gained, ..by either side. I...

Yes seed potatoes is an important industry for those employed in it. And more importantly it is a full added value activity .the inputs are just labour. It is or was a nice little earner for poor Scottish land exporting to more fertile soil in Ireland.
