Wisper Having a few practical issues with my new ebike - locking and quick release

Looks like my new Hiplok DXC will be going back :D My usage is going to be mainly commuting and the bike (Wisper 806T) will be stored at home or inside the office. A 5KG chain is just not appealing regardless of its rating. The smaller version, looks like a contender. Being able to fit it...

    Insurance, trackers and recovery

Laka £10-12.33 per month for the core product (no accidental damage). Much cheaper everywhere else I got quotes from for the same cover.

Hello, looking for a commuter bike

I think support are working on it. Hopefully sort it next week as I have a job interview Thursday in MK.

    Insurance, trackers and recovery

I shopped around a bit, ended up getting a quote from the same insurer as the recovery company use as their underpinning arrangement. The cost of recovery etc. would seem a waste of the extra £2 as the insurance will pay new for old anyhow, so where's my incentive to get the bike back? I'm not...

    Insurance, trackers and recovery

I'm not understanding the insurance costs that represent recovery and theft coverage. Seems there's no point in paying recovery as there's no benefit in the cost of your insurance premium. I got a quote for £149 to fit a tracker, then an insurance price of £13/month for the associated insurance...

Hello, looking for a commuter bike

Well, I've only gone and done it. Ordered the ex-demo Wisper 806 Torque in Black with the 575Wh battery pack. Thanks, David and Tim at Wisper for being so helpful. It has a few dings and scrapes that I should be able to treat, but for the 40% discount and manufacturer warranty, it was now or...

Hello, looking for a commuter bike

I think by the time I try to set it up with a new employer, I'd miss the deal. Seeing what I can get the 806 for :)

Hello, looking for a commuter bike

Very tempted at that saving. It negates cycle to work at that price.

Hello, looking for a commuter bike

It's the one chosen in my head for the longer journey. Or the Woosh Santana 3 for the wallet - but rim brakes :(

Hello, looking for a commuter bike

When I do the route on train, it clocks up 5-miles of walking on my step counter - each way, and involves two trains - one very unreliable, and often causing me to get a taxi for that leg, or abandon the trip to work. Abandoning the trip home isn't an option, but the frustration of finding you...

Hello, looking for a commuter bike

Wow, what a difference a day makes! Thanks for all the awesome replies. Very helpful. I've been spiralling out of control with options and budgets. I spent the day planning the route to work. It's just over 14 miles, but 8 miles of it are along the canal - loving the no hills bit :D Then I...

Hello, looking for a commuter bike

Hi All, as an aging unfit male, I potentially find myself needing to attend the office more than the 3 days a week I currently do. Change of job, could see me needing to do 5 days a week. Trouble is, I only have access to the car 3 days a week. I'm looking at a 15 mile journey each way. On the...
