Specify best conversion outcome for same cost as Argos recent bargains

On the subject of gearing I have 14 teeth on the cassette, 48 teeth on the crank with 26” wheels on my trike with e-bike kit and pedalling in top gear is ok at 15 mph, you don’t want to be doing more than 15mph on a delta trike. with the same cogs on my 22” wheeled e step thru I’m ghost...

UK - legality of thumb-throttles in DIY conversions

Yes I have, but get challenged by security the 1st time they see me. It meets the UK‘s requirements for ‘a vehicle constructed or adapted for use by a person with disabilities’. Various size and weight limits apply which the trike meets easily. Other requirements are: must have a form of...

UK - legality of thumb-throttles in DIY conversions

I think it was on here somewhere that I read that the throttle operating only when pedalling and being limited to 4 mph only applied to distributors and sellers and not a bike or trike that was 1st used as a bicycle or trike then had an e-bike kit fitted to it. I don't know how true that is. If...

UK - legality of thumb-throttles in DIY conversions

Plod can definitely do you for riding on a path and if it’s deemed to be reckless riding you can end up in court as happened to a cyclist in London who struck and injured a pedestrian on a footpath in London. if found guilty you can’t get points on any licences you have but you can get a ban...

UK - legality of thumb-throttles in DIY conversions

Thanks for the guidance. The KT controller seems to be the way to go but my controller is built into the battery housing so would to change both and the display to suit. With hindsight I should have bought the kit with the KT controller. I also ride the trike on footpaths and in my town centre...

UK - legality of thumb-throttles in DIY conversions

I’m well confused reading all this. i have a Yosepower Kit and went for the 250w front wheel model in an attempt to be road legal when i fitted it to my trike myself, but from what I’ve read it not legal as the thumb throttle can power the motor to 15mph without pedalling. Having read the...

    Yose power 36V 250W 6km/h limit

Did you find out if the throttle can be set to a limit of 6kph/4mph? I didn’t see this covered but I did come across a setting in my display giving the option of throttle y/n which was full power of walk mode but it didn’t get up to 4mph with my fat @rse on the trike.

    Help with Pedal Assist settings

I personally found the 0-5 setting too aggressive so have changed mine to 0-9 with the power settings starting at 20 for PAS 1 and increasing by 10 for each of the next 8 PAS modes ending at 99 for PAS 9. This means more pressing of the +/- button to change the PAS throughout its range but the...

    Hub motor identification

On the subject of motors, and forgive me if this isn’t the right place to ask , but ’m looking to replace my existing yosepower front hub, 26v, 36w, 26” rim Juliet connector with a hub of the same specs that I’ve found on Amazon and eBay. My layman question is, is there any guarantee this will...

New to electric bikes - advice

On the subject of motors and controllers and with the wealth of info here, could anyone tell me of a front or rear hub motor that would be the same as my current yosepower front hub which has part number AKM20153120066 95RS. F250-3626 and is set in a 26” wheel. I ask as I intend to mount the...

New to electric bikes - advice

I fitted the replacement brakes that came with my Yosepower kit that cuts the power but at the time of fitting I did think to myself would one really be likely to brake and pedal or use the throttle at the same time. Don’t think I would as I never braked and accelerated at the same time on my...

New to electric bikes - advice

Don't know if this helps but the number on my Yosepower front wheel hub is AKM21053120066 95 RS.F250-3626 so perhaps the controller for the front wheel kit it came with would do the job. The controller is part of the downtube battery holder and is about £50 though although they do a...

I final decided on 40 x 80 x 2mm rectangular steel tube. YOSE Power JYTCON-C500 Manual inc unlocking settings

I found this on YouTube and changed the PAS settings on my yose power kit from 5 to 9 and the power settings for each of the 9 settings. The power delivery is now a lot smoother. For example: PAS 1 = 10%, 2 = 22%, 3 = 34% up to 9 = 99%.
