No not agreed. Fit a mini with a 1200cc bmc engine it will go like stink. Fit a 5 litre engine then it might also travel quickly but the range will be hammered. Greater wattage means greater fuel consumption =reduced range. Are you American by any chance?

A whole new wheel won't cost much if you look around, unless it has the motor in it.

If it was a real 250watt motor it would seriously struggle with two people on a hill. However most bikes are rated as 250 but run at much higher levels. The power is controlled by the controller which drives the current. The bike probably has the same motor and controller but different...

A trailer might beat the weight issue? Any bike should be able to assist, the cyclomatic is around the cheapest but I don't know if it has a throttle, the wooshes would be high on my recommendation list with a retrofit throttle and bags of power.

No they're bikes, had a short test ride on my new quest today. Hit 29mph and average over 15 with no assist and I'm over 50 years old and 100+kg.with athsma.

Yes but they are fast. Really fast and legal.

Alleweder Sorry dyslexia doesn't help. I just bought a quest and hit 29mph without electric assist on the flat :eek:

There's a altwieller going for £800, fitted with a kit it would easily hit 25 with greater range than most bikes at 15 mph

Well I have to add a new bike to my list. I have a quest velomobile no 89.:D That s fairly nippy. First run today hit 29 mph on a 1% downhill.
