    Conversion kits

The BBS01 kit can be got complete from woosh. About £600. It is legal but can be made illegal. It's enough for me speed and power wise. I have disk brakes A definite fit to all my new bikes. You could end up in very deep ** if things went wrong with a illegal setup. But it is low chance of...

Remove 15 MPH limit on 48V BH Evo Street 2016

You have a hard job. Is there a derestricted variant. I've American model. If so it could be done but. The other test is measure the rear wheel no load speed full and low battery. If it's the same then the motor is electronically controlled and could be adjusted. But I haven't a clue how. :-(

Best lightweight kit for road bike

First thing is obviously 25mph is illegal. There is plenty on that elsewhere on the site. No one needs to say anything else unless you ask. Ok the BBs it is easy to set a new top speed. You will need a Lot less effort to accelerate. And going up hill you will be able to climb twice as fast as...

What is the advantage of 36volt over 26volt?

The difference is at design stage. You use higher current with a lower voltage to get the same power. You use thicker wire but less turns. Or you use higher voltage and lower current ,use more turns of thinner wire. So for a purchased motor there is no practical difference. However as flec...

Mid-Motor - highest assist level and no speed restriction - battery life

Ok so I'm looking at 1.5 volts left. From 5 volts I have had 125 miles so thinking perhaps 40 miles left. I carry a spare 3ah battery so I will keep going. It looks like charging every 100 miles will be easy system.:-)

    London Cyclist Death

Did my first London commute today Lambeth Westminster. The cycle lanes where they were were excellent. I was stately and avoided any issues. Much greater danger on M4 near Swindon when a car moved from slip road ro middle lane without looking.

Mid-Motor - highest assist level and no speed restriction - battery life

My BBS 01 is now circa 50% remaining on plugin tester 3.7 volts per cell or one bar off on the display. After 125 miles.(16ah Lipo) I'm dreading a sudden cutoff and will monitor the battery as the charge falls. But 3.2volts is my definite limit.

    Bafang 350 watt BBS01 - could I sell it?

It may be possible to buy the 250 watt controller from bifang etc. And or reprogram it to 15 amp. The bike would be in the spirit of the law with a 25 kph cut out. There would remain the if you were investigated you may be at risk. But it would take an expert to spot it was illegal if it had...

    Battery Options

That's what Alan Q was saying the total power in a battery is Volts times Amps. So 36*16= 48*12 are the same weight. I cannot advise on the current battery market but I loved my Panasonic system so I suspect your right

    Trade versus Non Trade Membership?

And I know trex recommended oxygen as well. Yes there is some bias but nothing I see as wrong just I know this would be a good option for you. It is a hard market for all the traders here I don't see anyone driving rollers. Business have gone bust. But I and I think many of us want a healthy...

    Battery Options

The voltage has a few effects. When you are designing a motor for a given power you could use lighter/ thinner wires. But that is cutting edge design shaving grass etc. We just buy an off the shelf motor. For a given motor that is not electronically restricted it will run faster at a higher...

    BBS01 recumbent and thousandth post

Thanks Neath. The meter will drop the mini battery proved that but I am monitoring the voltages as well. My plan is to charge regularly. Just doing one run to check how far it can go. It looks like It will do silly mileage on full assist so I might leave it on that. Or I might drop the power and...
