Aye your right, these electric bikes are heavy but the electric motor cancels out the weight, best thing since sliced bread (as they say) give it 10 years and I think they will be the normal way to go.

Al need to get a lock for my bike, tend not to let it out my sight at the moment.

Unless I'm wrong it only makes a difference if it's a crank drive? Otherwise there's no extra strain the chain?

I did change the brake blocks/pads to clark ones (not them exact ones) and the brakes improved a lot, av never had a hairy moment or near miss but I would just like to feel more confident that if the situation arose I could stop in a hurry.

Just had a wee look into the V brake idea,it's the easiest and cheapest upgrade (about £20) so at that money it's got to be worth a shot, cheers

No it's an old GT mountain bike that I converted with a rear hub kit from EBC that cost £400, the project probably cost around £500 in total.

Didn't realise that there was a big difference between cantilever and v brakes so thats another thing to look into, every days a school day, cheers
