BBS01 programming - that doesn't fry the controller

The latest BBS01 36V 250W I have seen (manufacture date June 2016) do have a slightly revised design, now with 'Bafang' opposed to '8FUN' on the side, controller is slightly different shape/fit. On the underside of the casing it now states BBS01B.

BBS01 programming - that doesn't fry the controller

Run back through the process, but try the 'read all' and 'write 'all options? As Fordulike says, check the connector pins have not got damaged too. Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

BBS01 programming - that doesn't fry the controller

Sounds odd. Did you use 'write' or 'write all', or both? Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Miraculous escape not needing new tube! I agree, the flint up there is a pain, but the views and natural beauty of the area far out weigh that! Sent from my E5823 using Tapatalk

BBS01 programming - that doesn't fry the controller

20% keep current seems to be quite a common factory setting out of the box, from what I've seen anyway. Depending on battery capacity and desired range, this setting is sometimes increased to between 40 and 75% (some even 100%) if increased power is desired (in practice it generally means lower...

BBS01 programming - that doesn't fry the controller

Well it all sounds good. Popping the battery on and clicking connect will confirm that when the controller details appear on the right hand panel. Then ,read all, and see what settings you've got...

BBS01 programming - that doesn't fry the controller

Has the computer installed the drivers and happy the prog. cable is working properly? If so, once battery is fitted, clicking 'connect' should show the controller's details on the right hand side, this confirms it's communicating okay. If you then click 'read all' it will bring up the...

BBS01 programming - that doesn't fry the controller

You are welcome to drop by mine in Hove for a simple crash course on computer (com port set up), and discuss my findings. I have a number of .el files saved that offer different benefits depending on the style of riding planned. It's all a compromise, more power equals less range and vice versa...

    Advise please.

My persuasion would be towards the BBS, but question the need for the HD model, at 1000W it will create something akin to an electric motorcrosser! Perhaps something lower down in the power range could be more rewarding to ride? Even on lowest assist setting, that thing is going to kick some...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

Wow, sounds like you've got it nailed. Pretty self sufficient out there, and I dare say you could stash a can or two of Guinness too if needs be :) I caught a terminal flat today, very large slice from a piece of flint. Too large to plug with some plastic or card even if I did pop a new tube in...

How many people are using there e-bike off-road?

I like your style! Discussing it with my wife, I wonder whether many people don't venture so far off-road in case of a mechanical issue (possibly something as simple as a puncture?), or worse still a bad 'fall-off'. Going out in a small group really helps to minimise such concerns I guess. Are...
